The stars twinkled across the night sky, their light reflecting off the calm ocean waters surrounding the resort. The rest of the team was gathered somewhere near the beach, drinking and laughing, their voices carrying faintly on the gentle breeze. Christian had retired upstairs to rest, leaving Bien to his own devices.

Bien wandered through the resort, his thoughts a tangled mess. He found himself at the cottage where Mr. George was hunched over his laptop, the soft glow of the screen casting shadows on his face.

Mr. George looked up as Bien entered. "Bien, good to see you. How are you holding up?"

Bien offered a small smile and a shrug. "I've been better, Mr. George," he said, feeling the gentle breeze.

Mr. George took a bite from a plateful of biscuits on the table. "I heard you resigned from Sing FM. Is that true?"

Mr. George offered a biscuit. Bien nodded, taking a seat opposite Mr. George. "Yeah, I did."

"I'm sorry to hear that. What happened?" Mr. George's expression softened.

Bien took a deep breath, his fingers fidgeting with the hem of his shirt. "It was a mess. A photo of me working with you got leaked, and I was branded a traitor to the company. They accused me of conspiring against them. I already saw his close-mindedness, so I didn't care to explain anymore." It had been almost a month, yet he still felt the hurt whenever he thought about it.

Mr. George's eyes darkened with anger. "That's ridiculous. Well, it's their loss, not yours. You set the standard there. You designed everything they're using. They owe you more than they'll ever admit."

Bien looked down, his heart heavy with the memories of his time at Sing. "Thank you, Mr. George. But it still hurts."

Mr. George sighed, closing his laptop. "Boy is unbelievable! I can understand his frustrations against me, but to drag you into it? Childish!"

Bien was glad that he wasn't alone in his frustrations with his previous boss. But there wasn't anything they could do to change the past.

Mr. George continued. "I was fighting for you and the other employees to receive proper compensation. But Boy refused! And that's precisely the reason why I quit. He was immature and only thinks about himself."

Bien's eyes widened in surprise. "You were fighting for us?"

Mr. George nodded. "Yes! Look. Boy had no problem spending money on unnecessary things for Sing FM, but when it came to paying his employees fairly, he acted like he was broke. It was infuriating! I told this to Noel and he threw me under the bus to get that position!"

Bien's mind raced as he processed this information. "That's why you told me to trust no one?"

"Yes!" Mr. George replied. "I sent it to you because I didn't trust anyone else there, not even Joanna."

Bien's eyes widened in realization. "But Joanna said she received the same message. I thought you sent it to both of us."

Mr. George shook his head. "I only sent it to you. I don't trust that fat lady. Her enthusiasm looks fake to me."

A chill ran down Bien's spine as the pieces of the puzzle fell into place. Joanna had been betraying him from the start. "I can't believe I didn't see it."

Mr. George placed a comforting hand on Bien's shoulder. "Don't blame yourself. Joanna is good at what she does. She probably thought she was doing the right thing. It's just a shame that your friendship came to an end. But mark my words, Bien, vengeance will be ours."
