"Our Forever Together": A Spelivia Story

Something bigger than yourself...

The night before Spencer heads to OTAs. He can't seem to sleep. Liv wakes up to find Spencer sitting up on the side of the bed, she sits up and scoots beside him and rubs his back.

*Liv: Baby what's wrong?

*Spencer: Can't sleep.

*Liv: I can see that, but I'm going to need you to Elaborate.

*Spencer: ......

*Liv: Spencer I can tell something is bothering you. But I can't help you through it if you're not going to talk.

*Spencer: It's just I've always been so happy to go back to football. But now that I'm a dad, it's gonna be hard leaving the girls. It was hard enough having to leave you, but now them too.

*Liv: Baby these are just OTAs. You've been through these before, plus you'll be back every night.

*Spencer: Baby it's not just the OTAs, it's all parts of football. I mean just think about all the away games. Or the training camps that I'll be away.Baby...

*Liv: Spencer I get what you're saying baby, I do. But football is your dream, you worked for this your whole life. You've done this routine plenty of times.

*Spencer: But I wasn't a father then, I just don't wanna miss out on all the girls' milestones. What if I miss their first steps or what if  I miss their first days of school.

Liv lays her head on his shoulder.

*Liv: Spencer, you're the best dad to those girls. You never have to feel guilty for missing anything, I'll be here documenting everything.Plus they just turned a month old so let's not get ahead of ourselves. It's gonna be a while before they start hitting their big milestones. (Liv remembers something she had for him)Hold on I got something for you.

Liv gets out of the bed and walks over to their closet. She pulls out a small box and walks back to hand it to Spencer.

*Spencer: What's this?

*Liv: Open it.

Spencer opens the box to find a pair of shoelaces. Liv had them customized to have the letters O.L.A on them.

*Liv: I was gonna wait till your first game to give them to you. But now seems to be the perfect time. I had them customized with mine and the girls initials on them. That way we are with you no matter where you are.

Tears start to roll down Spencer's face. Olivia wipes his tears away.

*Spencer: Thank you baby,I love them. what would I do without you?. You always know what to say.

*Liv: Its my super power babe remember. (She says smiling at him)Come on, lay back down for a bit before you have to get up and get ready.

Spencer sets the laces on his night stand. He crawls back in bed and Liv cuddles him, before falling back asleep. A few hours later Spencer is up getting ready for OTAs. These training camps aren't mandatory nor do the players have to stay away from home. The trainings are Monday, Wednesday and Fridays. But Spencer wants to attend and continue to show up for his team, and for his betterment.He is determined for this team to win again. He's feeling a lot better this morning after his talk with Liv. Spencer is up early, Cyrus has prepared breakfast and his protein shake. Liv is up with the girls. She takes them down stairs to see Spencer before he leaves.
