When Eunhye woke up the next day, Jeno was already gone.

She wasn't surprised since it was passed 10am and she'd slept longer than usual.

But what did feel strange to her was that instead of feeling upset about yesterday, she somewhat found herself more calm and relaxed.

Not bothering to get dressed, Eunhye just threw on a kimono-style satin robe and strolled into the kitchen, seeing that Jeno had kept some coffee warm for her in the machine and had laid out breakfast pastries.

Taking a seat on a barstool at the island, Eunhye started eating as she evaluated her situation yet again.

So Jeno was still an entitled prick, telling her what to do and exercising control over her whenever he could.

Funny enough, it was annoying as hell regarding day-to-day matters, however when it came to anything physical between them, it was such a turn on, Eunhye hated that every time it had happened, she'd not been able to control her body reacting to it.

On the flip side though, he'd also gone great lengths to make her feel somehow comfortable in her new home.

He was taking care of her by catering to her needs with material things, and as of yesterday even shown her that he was attracted to her.

Which was exactly why she still felt so confused.

Eunhye was smart enough to know that this, of course, didn't mean he had actual feelings for
her, but by the way he was talking to her, he'd made it clear that he wanted to make this marriage work.

Pausing at this, she thought of why she was still fighting this.

Eunhye quickly went through the cons in her head:

-The Lees had killed Jisung.

-Jeno had only married her so that they could have an advantage over her father.

-Maybe he was just lying to her anyway. After all, he'd gone through two years of pretending to work for her father.

But then assessing all of these points, it was her father himself who'd given her up. He'd been the one who'd chosen his business over his daughter.

For all he knew, Jeno could've killed her that first night, so why should she care?

Eunhye had suppressed her feelings about this for the past week, not wanting to think of her father and remember what he'd done to her.

However after the intimate exchange during sex with Jeno yesterday, she'd also suddenly reconnected with her emotions, noticing how angry she actually was.

So, the reason she was keeping her guard up likely wasn't really because of her father but actually because of...Jisung.

Jeno had told her that he hadn't killed him.
