Night had fully taken over on the island, wrapping everything in darkness. Good thing we have the fire in the center and the light near where we are sitting. Other than that, the surroundings can't be seen because of the darkness. I could also hear the sounds of the waves crashing against the shore grow louder, and as I'm sitting on one of the sofas beside my brother—Ezrail—I keep tapping my foot impatiently on the sandy ground with arms crossed.

Kung hindi lang dahil sa stupid na mga kaibigan ng brother ko, I won't be here! Why would I even join such a show when I can get a man if I choose to?

I looked at my brother before I grimaced. Masama talaga ang loob kong andito ako ngayon. My brother and his friends started all of this, and now I'm stuck in here! Ang alam din ni Mom and Dad ay nasa vacation kami, and if they ever find out about this, which they will probably do, we're doomed!

My brother made a bet with his friends. They answered the form when they learned about this nonsense show! And whoever gets chosen will lose something. They're childish as fuck! And I am here now because my brother here answered another form with my name on it. I wasn't expecting to be chosen—both of us! That's why I was so confident that I wouldn't be chosen, at least when I learned about what my brother did, but I was so wrong!

“Hey...” My thoughts got distracted when I heard a whisper beside me. “I’ll get you something in return, I promise.”

I rolled my eyes, clearly irritated. He's bribing me! I have my savings, I don't need his bribe!

“I'll get you whatever you want.” That made me pause for a while. Whatever I want, huh?

I looked at him again, and I saw how the sides of his lips rose up. Gosh, he knows what he's doing! He knows he got me with what he said!

Fine! “I'll think about it.”

He grinned and shrugged.

My brows furrowed as we kept waiting for the other two. What the heck is taking them so long?
 
My mood isn't even helping me at the moment because of the mosquitoes that seem determined to make my life miserable. The island might be paradise, but the mosquitoes ruining it! This is not giving!
 
"Ugh, this is torture," I muttered, swatting away another insect.
 
Ginala ko ang mga mata at masamang tiningnan ang posteng nahanap ko sa may hindi kalayuan ng isla. There are other lights here?!
 
"What are those stupid lights, a design here on the island?"
 
As if it heard me, the lights suddenly flickered on, illuminating the whole island. I jumped on my seat a little when it happened all of a sudden.
 
“Oh, great. Just what I needed,” I grumbled, annoyed and with a hint of sarcasm.

When brightness embraced the island, I heard a boat approaching. Parang pinaliwanag lang nila ang isla para sa paparating na bisita. I scoffed.

In the distance, a figure appeared, stepping off a newly arrived boat. My brow raised automatically, and my eyes were glaring. Is this person even worth waiting for? He made us wait for too long!

The man was tall, with broad shoulders and a face that seemed permanently set in a confident smirk. He had that kind of look—sharp eyes, perfectly styled hair, and a posture that screamed ‘I own the room,’ even if that room was just a dark beach. I scoffed once again.
