A/n: Hi all! I'm so bummed. For some reason my Wattpad must have glitched and it deleted everything I wrote for chapters 4-8 :(

It was mostly just detailed plot points and some dialogue, but still!

I'm taking as my sign to make it even better though!

Bare with these earlier chapters, they are leading to the real good stuff ;)

Just a little over three weeks later, you were moved into a little hotel in Rochestor. You were glad to have a normal, comfortable bed again. One of the springs decided to break a week ago and assaulted your side or back if you rolled onto it, forcing you to curl onto one side of the bed. As soon as you had seen your new bed, you had dove right into it and sprawled like a starfish.

As you unpacked your suitcase and put your clothes away into one of the two dressers, you wondered where the storm-chasers were. Where was their place at?

It was only a matter of time until you ran into them again, you felt. Not only were you going to be here a bit longer—about 5-6 weeks—due to a larger list of things to be completed, and a larger population to serve, but storms were already on the forecast through the next week and a half.

Three days later, strong winds blew through a little township just down the road. Though the sirens didn't go off, it was thought that a funnel cloud poked its face down but never reached the ground. Although there wasn't even a tornado, the winds still caused damage to the neighborhood; one house had been crushed by an ancient oak tree that used to sit not far from the home.

Because of the damage, Weatherproof Warriors had sent you out there to help anyone in need, whether that be clean up, helping to find shelter if their home was destroyed, or offer support.

When you arrived, you found the red truck of the Tornado Wranglers sitting there, no one inside. You parked the van next to it before making your way over to the house with the most damage.

When you began to approach the house, you saw Tyler walked through the backyard, looking around like he was looking for something. It was then when he looked up to see you. He raised a hand and waved.

The two of you began walking, meeting in the middle.

"Hey," You said. "What are you doing?"

"I'm looking for this family's cat and dog. They had let the dog out to use the bathroom before the storm got worse, but obviously things picked up quickly. The cat is an outside cat."

      "Is the family okay?"

"Yeah. A bit shaken up, but okay. They're packing up some stuff right now."

      "Can I help you look?"

      "Yeah, go right ahead."

The two of you began to walk the perimeter of their backyard, calling out the names of both their cat and their dog. The property line ended where the grass was mowed, and you saw a tree out in the distance, looking like it was cracked open and hollow. You wondered if they could be there.

"Let's check out there," You said, pointing out into the distance.

With no other leads on the lost pets, the two of you started to walk through the prairie.
