Between finding missing people and reuniting families, to getting people medical attention and finding temporary shelter for those who lost their homes, it was a busy night. But it was okay, because not only was helping people your passion, but you had Tyler by your side when doing it.
There were times where you each went off to help someone, or work on something else, but every time you got close or saw one another, he couldn't help but grin at you, and you always would smile right back.
You had been keeping in contact with Chelsey during the past few weeks, and so had some of your other coworkers. She enjoyed getting the updates about your progress, and also knowing that you were still safe. Somebody, when giving Chelsey an update about this huge storm, spilled the beans about you and Tyler, because the following afternoon you checked your phone, which had been charging in Tyler's truck, to find many missed calls and even more texts from her. They started with her seeming upset that you didn't tell her right away, to her saying she knew she was right that he liked you, to being happy for you, to saying the two of you would have cute babies.
You rolled your eyes before responding.
The next few weeks were spent helping the town. The weather seemed to be letting up and giving the people of Oklahoma some grace, because there wasn't anything more than a few raindrops. It was perfect to catch a break, but also that Tyler had no reason to go running off storm chasing.
He would come pick you up at the non-profit every morning, sometimes with his friends, or sometimes it would just be the two of you. And every night he would bring you back, giving you a kiss good night before he left.
August rolled around, and you went back to Stillwater to continue construction. He planned to stay until storms were coming, which looked like would happen a few days later down south. At first, you were worried. The past three storms you've been through were mildly traumatizing to say the least.
But Tyler wrapped his arms around you and promised he would be okay. He would take it easy and be there to help anyone who needed it. He also wanted to share with his channel your mission once more, and hope to get some for money for you, given the huge destruction that happened the past few weeks.
He kept you updated on when he was heading out into the storm, and that Boone was going live, so you made sure to take a break to watch. Your heart raced when you saw the tornado, but you trusted him and that he knew what he was doing. He was in his element.
Luckily, the storm didn't damage anything more than a few trees and some deer stands.
"We got lucky this time. The last storm tore down the entire town and nearly sucked us up with it, but that's a story for another time—"
Boone turned the iPhone camera rig around so it was facing him. "I would have recorded it if I weren't holding on for dear life." He turned the camera back to Tyler.
