I walked in silence through the quiet halls of Hankuk University. The stillness felt almost eerie, a stark contrast to the usual buzzle I expected to fill these halls on a Wednesday morning like this. However, the Ministry of Education had declared a three-day public holiday ahead of tomorrow's election, leaving the campus nearly deserted, save for a few janitors who were diligently cleaning.

"Good morning, Karina-ssi," a voice suddenly broke the silence, causing me to jump slightly. I turned to see an older janitor smiling warmly at me.
"Oh! G-Good morning," I stammered, caught off guard.

She continued to smile, and I found myself drawn to her kind demeanor, deciding to linger for a moment.

"You... recognize me?" I asked, a bit surprised. She chuckled softly.
"Who wouldn't? It's not every day I see someone as beautiful as you in these halls."

Her words brought a smile to my face, and I felt a flush of warmth at the compliment.

"Ah, anieyo... Kamsahamnida," I responded, bowing my head slightly in gratitude. Then, with a light chuckle, I added, "But... haven't you seen a lot of other pretty girls around since last night?"
"Ah yes... Majayo," she chuckled raspily. "I never knew Professor Seiko had so many idol acquaintances..."
"You know, his daughter might become one soon," I said with a smirk.
"Oh? Little Sachiko?" The janitor's eyes widened. I nodded.
"Mm! Sachiko has been accepted as a trainee at ANYoung Entertainment, so... I think she'll debut sooner or later," I told her.
"Woah... Good for her!" The janitor beamed. "Gosh, poor Sachiko. She's been through a lot, that girl. I still remember many years ago... I think it was during the pandemic? Back then, the Professor first started working on that... uh... Computer program."

This piqued my interest.

"Computer program? You mean... Kwangya?" I guessed. The janitor shook her head.
"I don't know for sure... But I remember seeing Sachiko here almost every day, still in her school uniform. She was always so cheerful and bright, so polite and kind to everyone, you wouldn't know that she spent those days like a test subject..." the janitor reminisced.
"T–Test subject?" My eyes widened.
"Well... Not exactly. To be honest, I didn't understand anything those scientists were doing... But one night, as I was cleaning one of the laboratories, I found little Sachiko sleeping on one of the beds... With cables stuck around her tiny head, all connected to computers and whatnot," she shuddered, "It was... The stuff of nightmares..."
