An excerpt from my latest serialized fictional narrative, "The Mystic Poet," now available to read in full on Amazon Vella, being written in real time.

Episode 1 Excerpt:

"With frustration, David sat down at the kitchen table and said, "I mean, it was a simple poem. It's not like I ignored you, Mom. I mean—never mind. Can I get breakfast at FlickBirds?"

"Go wash up, and I'll think about it."

David, feeling frustrated with his mom, walked away and collected his thoughts alone. "Mom can be stubborn at times. I don't think she means it. Maybe she's having a bad day. A bad day every time I speak of poetry just to create beautiful moments. If the sky is blue today, I might as well sing like a mockingbird with tunes of mellow jazz, the kind Grandpa used to enjoy. He used to say, 'Ouu-Wuu, let me dance, let me dance to this fine tune.' He said that a lot, until his mind gave in like flowers—except his won't grow back. Maybe through my words, I too can heal a blinded fool. Did I mention he used to argue fiercely, his tongue almost out of his mouth, just yelling, and it wasn't poetry? Some say he is better off; he'll live longer if he can't express unnecessary anger. But every time I see him, his eyes bulge with rage like a menace from a TV show I watch called 'Bulged Eye Menace.'"

"Wait, maybe I should join The Poetry Diary Club at the Poetic Mystic Society Hill."
