A Shy Girl & A Wild Horse
Chapter 2~
'I eat a lot of junk food.
Yes I know it's not healthy, and yes I know that it will eventually make me fat.
But a cheeseburger tastes so good! So does a good bag of potato chips!
I think the only reason that I'm not overweight is that because I have to walk to school and walk home to my very comfy apartment everyday.
And it's not like I'm cheerleader who has to be skinny. Both Caitlin and I are pretty much stick thin but with the kind of food that I'm eating it is going to change really fast.'
I was I my dreamland (I go to my dreamland if I'm really bored, or mean people are talking to me...) when I heard voices outside of my head.
"Are you listening to me?" Caitlin snapped at me.
I shook my head and put the previous thoughts about junk food to the back of my head.
"Um yeah." I lied.
"Okay so like I said, I just don't get people." She said.
"Why?" I asked.
"Well all your life well at least just in high school you've be bullied and just this past year I have been bullied, nothing has changed but then people like Ryan Black go and pull a stunt like that."
Caitlin has always had a crush on Ryan and he did have one on her but then Jessica threw her out of the 'popular group' and that's when things just fell apart from there.
I blame myself for that. But then again I blame myself for everything.
"Becca?" Caitlin snapped her fingers in my face.
"Wha- oh sorry." I hung my head.
"I just think that Ryan didn't want Jessica to make a scene, she is his girlfriend and he doesn't want her to be sent to the office or anything like that." I commented.
"But everyone there hates us, no one would say anything if she did hit me."
"I guess you're right." Caitlin groaned.
"But do you think that he was trying to stand up for us?"
"I highly doubt it."
I'm anything but an optimistic person.
I was about to say something but Caitlin's phone started buzzing like crazy.
She took it out of her pocket and almost dropped it.
"What is it?" I asked.
"A t-text m-message from R-Ryan..." She managed to reply.
"Really?"
She nodded her head and started to read it. It must have been long because she didn't stop reading for like 3 minutes.
"What does it say?" I questioned.
She handed me her phone and started jumping up and down like a 10-year-old.
Ryan- Look I don't want you or your friend around Jessica or me anymore...
That was harsh. I don't see why Caitlin is so happy. But I kept reading.
Ryan- you guys are really nice girls and I don't want to see you guys getting hit. Just stay away from her and you should be fine and she is always by me so stay away from me I guess. By the way, I'm not dating Jessica she just thinks that we are ;).
I looked over at Caitlin, then back at the phone, then back at Caitlin.
"Yep I don't get people either." I said handing her the phone.
She jumped up and down again and started squealing like a mad woman.
"Anyways this is where we split ways and then join them again tomorrow." I said referring to that my apartment was ten steps away and that she had another mile to go.
Caitlin's smile slightly faded but she hugged me goodbye.
"See you tomorrow?"
"Yep." I said popping the 'p'.
We split our ways and I climbed the good 22 flights of stairs. I have gotten good where I can run up a little more then half of them. This may be another reason my I'm not fat - yet.
I finally got to the door marked 315 and pulled out my key and opened it and dropped all of my bags on the floor.
"I'm home!" I yelled but my voice is so quiet that it just would've sounded like I was normally talking.
I looked out the window and saw New York at its greatest. When it's dark and all the lights come on, let's just say that it's breath taking.
"Grandma! Grandpa!"
No reply.
I saw a note on the kitchen table and I knew that my grandparents had gone out shopping for dinner.
It's was like 5 so they should be back by now...
I pulled out my phone to call my grandparents but something caught my eye.
I had my text message...
Yes I know I'm over reacting to a text message but if it's from a boy...
I read the message quietly to myself and I just had to smile a little.
Ryan- I know it's tough, but hang in there. :)
