It didn't take much to notice—he'd been avoiding Stolas and me, burying himself in work and distractions, anything to keep from facing whatever was gnawing at him. Surprisingly, he didn't want to touch me as much. I didn't mind it but it felt like something was wrong.

I could see it in how he carried himself, in the sharpness of his tone, and in how he recoiled from any real connection.

I got up from my chair, stretching my arms over my head. The room felt stuffy, and I was restless. A change of scenery was in order. I made my way to the kitchen, half-heartedly hoping that a snack or a drink might distract me from the tedium of the day.

As I rounded the corner, I spotted Blitz by the counter, pouring himself a cup of coffee. The familiar scent of the rich brew mixed with the faint aroma of his cologne, a combination that usually comforted me. Today, though, the air felt thick with unspoken tension.

"Hi, my sweet," I said, trying to sound casual as I walked up beside him. I leaned my hip against the counter, hoping a bit of conversation might lighten the mood. "You've been locked in your office all day. You okay?"

Blitz's eyes flickered to mine, but he quickly looked away, focusing on his coffee. He took a sip, and the silence stretched between us. "Yeah," he mumbled, the word barely more than a whisper.

I frowned, watching as he moved away from the counter. His movements were stiff, his tail twitching restlessly behind him. It wasn't like Blitz to be so closed off, and it wasn't like him to avoid eye contact. Something was definitely bothering him.

"Blitz," I started, stepping after him. "I can tell something's wrong. You don't have to keep it to yourself."

He stopped mid-stride, his back to me. I could see the tension in his shoulders, the way he clenched his jaw. After a moment, he turned around, forcing a half-hearted smile. "It's nothing. Just...stuff. You know how it is."

I could see through his facade. "No, I don't know how it is," I said softly. "But I want to. You've been pushing everyone away lately, and it's not like you. You don't have to deal with whatever this is on your own."

Blitz's gaze dropped to the floor, his face a mask of frustration and self-doubt. He took a deep breath, and for a moment, I thought he might open up. Instead, he simply shook his head. "I'm fine. Really."

I sighed, knowing that pushing him further might only drive him away. But I couldn't just let it go. I wasn't about to let him slip away that easily. Not when I knew something was eating him up inside. Not when I cared too damn much to just stand by and watch. "Look, if you need to talk, I'm here. You know that, right?"

He nodded curtly and made his way toward the door, but I wasn't ready to let him go. "Blitz, wait."

He paused, his hand on the door handle but his head looking back at me. "What?"

I took a step closer, lowering my voice. "I'm worried about you. And I think there's something you need to talk about with Stolas. He's been trying to reach out to you, and you've been avoiding him. Whatever it is, it's affecting all of us."

Blitz's face softened, but there was still a stubborn edge in his face. "I don't know what you want me to say. It's complicated."

"I get that it's complicated," I said, my tone firm but gentle. "But running away from it won't make it any easier. Sometimes talking things out can help, even if it doesn't fix everything."

He stood there for a moment, clearly torn. Finally, he nodded slowly, still avoiding my eyes. "Whatev-" he stopped, noticing the sharpness of his voice and sighed "Fine. I'll... think about it."

Come 2:30 PM, I had grabbed the van keys and settled into the driver's seat, the cool leather feeling oddly comforting. The gentle sway of the van as it idled was soothing. I glanced at the clock, watching the seconds tick by, and my thoughts wandered to what lay ahead. The uncertainty was gnawing at me, but I tried to focus. I was being ballsie, this could help of send everyone into a breakdown.

When I finally saw Blitz rushing out of the building, I reached over to the glove box and pulled out a pair of sunglasses. With a quick motion, I slipped them on just as Blitz approached. His face pressed up against the window, glaring at me. I sheepishly smiled and rolled the window down, His cheek pulled down with it.

His eyes squinted before asking, "What are you doing?"

"Waiting on you, princess," I retorted, a slight laugh escaping my chest.

"Nice shades. Trying to hide your coolness from me?"

I grinned back, feeling a bit of the tension ease away. "Gotta look the part, don't I? Ready for an adventure?"

He threw open the van door and hopped in, his usual energy somewhat subdued. As he buckled his seatbelt, I noticed the way his tail flicked with nervous energy, betraying the calm façade he was trying to maintain.

Blitz looked over to me as I began to pull out onto the street, "Where are we going?"

"To go see Stolas," I said, kind of scared Blitz would explode.

Blitz gave me a side-eye, the corners of his mouth twitching like he wanted to make a snarky comment but couldn't quite muster the energy.

"I think it's time for some real talk. Where you both can't avoid each other."

Blitz's eyes widened slightly, and he shifted in his seat, clearly uncomfortable. "you're fucking kidding. You're really pushing this, huh?"

"I am," I said firmly, keeping my gaze on the road. "It's important. To you, to Stolas and to me."

Blitz sighed, but I could see him mulling it over. "Fine"

I nodded, giving him a reassuring smile. "I'm not expecting it to be easy. But sometimes the hardest conversations are the ones that need to happen."

"When did you become so... all-knowing or something?" he rolled his eyes, trying not to cuss me out.

"When I decided to care."

We drove in silence for a few moments, the hum of the van filling the space between us. Blitz seemed lost in thought, and I focused on navigating through the streets, heading toward the park where I'd planned for them to meet.

As we pulled into the park's parking lot, I saw Stolas waiting by a bench, his posture tense but hopeful. He defiantly stood out from normal people. I guess he wasn't used to going to parks. I parked the van and turned to Blitz, who was already eyeing Stolas with a mix of apprehension and determination.

"Alright," I said, trying to sound as encouraging as possible. "We're here. You know what to do."

Blitz looked at me, then at Stolas, his expression a tangled mess of emotions. "Yeah, I know."
