Minjeong leaned against the lockers, her eyes scanning the field as she waited for Jimin to finish her cheerleading practice. Her heart fluttered with anticipation; they had plans to grab something to eat after school, and Minjeong was looking forward to spending more time with Jimin. As the cheerleaders wrapped up their routine, Jimin caught sight of Minjeong waiting patiently. She smiled, ready to walk over, but before she could, Jeno, the captain of the football team, stepped in front of her, blocking her path.
"Jeno?" Jimin said, her voice laced with confusion. She couldn't imagine what he might want.
"Jimin, I was hoping to talk to you," Jeno said, his tone confident.
"What's up?" Jimin asked, still puzzled.
"I was hoping we could go out on a date," Jeno said, flashing a smile that usually made girls swoon.
Jimin blinked in surprise. "Oh, Jeno. I don't do dates," she replied smoothly. "Besides, I already have someone who's courting me."
Jeno's smile faltered. He wasn't used to being rejected-especially not by someone like Jimin, who always seemed untouchable. "Courting you?" he repeated, a hint of disbelief in his voice. "You're actually letting someone court you?"
Jimin rolled her eyes, growing tired of the conversation. "Yes, Jeno, and if you'll excuse me, she's actually waiting for me."
"She?" Jeno echoed, his surprise evident. But before he could say anything else, Jimin walked past him, heading straight for Minjeong.
As she approached, Jimin noticed the way Minjeong's expression darkened when she saw Jeno lingering nearby. Jeno, on the other hand, met Minjeong's gaze, clearly recognizing her. He was well aware of who Kim Minjeong was and the reputation she carried. He also knew that Minjeong had her own set of charms that made her hard to resist.
Minjeong shot Jeno a cold glare, which didn't go unnoticed by Jimin. She couldn't help but chuckle at the sight.
"That's cute, Minjeong," Jimin said, her voice teasing. "You don't have to be jealous, you know?"
Minjeong frowned slightly, her gaze shifting back to Jimin. "What did he want?" she asked, her voice betraying a hint of concern.
"He asked me out on a date," Jimin said casually.
Minjeong's eyes narrowed slightly. "Did you say yes?"
Jimin shook her head, a smile tugging at her lips. "No, I told him that he couldn't ask me out because I don't go on dates. And besides, you're already courting me."
Minjeong's expression softened, a wave of satisfaction washing over her. Knowing that Jimin had turned Jeno down for her made her heart swell with pride.
Jimin couldn't help but laugh softly. "Alright, let me just go get changed, and then we can head out."
Minjeong nodded, her gaze following Jimin as she walked away. The exchange with Jeno had only solidified her determination to win Jimin's heart. She wasn't going to let anyone else come between them-not now, not ever.
As Jimin disappeared into the locker room, Minjeong's thoughts lingered at the moment. It wasn't just about jealousy; it was about her unwavering commitment to Jimin. No matter what challenges came their way, Minjeong was ready to face them head-on. And as far as she was concerned, Jimin was worth every bit of effort.
