Megan was so absolutely fucked.

The last thing she expected her girlfriend to ask her about was her irritating, uppity, blonde mistake. As far as she knew Victoria shouldn't even know Beyoncé's name. All the blonde should be to her is a vaguely familiar face in a passing crowd.

So why was she being asked about her?

"Who?" Megan squeaked.

"Beyoncé Knowles? She was at the door two days ago? Funnily enough I drove past her on my way in."

A few beats of silence had passed as Megan tried to formulate a plan to get out of this conversation. Victoria would know if she was lying, she knew her girlfriend back to front which is why she had cornered her like this in the first place. She wanted the truth, she wanted to see if Megan would give it to her.

"She's the resident advisor in my building. We ran into each other and she just stopped by to say hi." Megan breathed.

"She came by to say hello at eight thirty in the morning?"

Annoyed, Megan rolled her eyes wanting to put this conversation to bed. "She's just an early riser I guess. I don't know her that well, baby."

"Is that why she was here two days ago? To say hello?"

"Why does it suddenly feel like I'm in an interrogation room?" Megan was trying her best to laugh the situation off but much to her dismay, Victoria calmly persisted.

"Can you just be honest with me Meg? Please?"

"I'm not lying baby," Megan hummed as she pulled her girlfriend closer and caressed her face. "We ran into each other at the grocery store two days ago and she felt awkward about it. She just came by to clear the air but we were busy so I sent her right on her way. That's it okay?"

Megan's words fell so sweetly on Victoria's ears but things just weren't adding up.

"What was so awkward that she had to come over to clear things up?"

"Why does it matter, Victoria?" Megan scoffed. She was growing more and more annoyed with the situation. It felt like her girlfriend was trying to lure her into some trap and she was tired of it. She wanted to enjoy a nice stress free morning after the sordid events of last night and now her preferred method of escape was becoming her main problem.

"Oh now suddenly I'm Victoria? What happened to 'baby'?"

"Why do you want to fight with me? I just want to enjoy this morning with you and you keep trying to press me for who knows what?"

"The only thing I'm pressing you for is the truth and I can tell you're not being honest with me! Why was Beyoncé driving out of here so early in the morning!"

Victoria was growing increasingly frustrated. She knew something was going on and here Megan was playing her like she was some fucking dummy. This was supposed to be her person, someone she should have full faith and trust in, and now she wondered if she was the only one sharing that sentiment.

"Wait, how do you even know Beyoncé," Megan questioned. She was wracking her brain trying to find any time she had slipped up and mentioned Beyoncé by accident but she hadn't. So how exactly does Victoria know her full government? "You've never once mentioned her to me so I know you're not friends."

"Why are you changing the subject?"

"Why are you acting like I didn't just ask a relevant ass question?!?"

The pair went back and forth hurling questions and accusations as their anger boiled over. What was meant to be a sweet morning between the love had been soured into an ugly show of insecurity and dishonesty.
