The following morning dawned with an overcast sky, the sun hidden behind a blanket of clouds that seemed to mirror the mood in the Raizada and Gupta households. The conversation between Khushi and her parents, and Arnav and Nani, had left both families on edge, each aware of the heavy decision that loomed over them.
At the Gupta mansion, Khushi spent the morning in her room, her thoughts in turmoil. She had tossed and turned all night, unable to find peace as she wrestled with the enormity of what was being asked of her. She knew her parents wouldn’t pressure her into anything she wasn’t ready for, but she also knew that their happiness was tied to her decision. The weight of that responsibility was almost too much to bear.
As Khushi paced her room, trying to make sense of her emotions, she heard a knock at the door. Before she could respond, Payal entered, her expression soft with concern.
"Khushi, are you alright?" Payal asked, closing the door behind her and walking over to her sister.
Khushi looked up, her eyes filled with uncertainty. "Jiji, I don’t know what to do. They want me to consider marrying Arnavji, but… I don’t know if I’m ready for that."
Payal’s heart ached for her sister. She had always been protective of Khushi, and the thought of her being thrust into such a complicated situation was difficult to bear. "Khushi, you don’t have to make any decisions right now. This is your life, and you have the right to choose what’s best for you."
Khushi sighed, sitting down on the edge of her bed. "I know, Jiji. But it’s not just about me. It’s about our families, about the future they want for us. And Arnavji… he’s not like anyone I’ve ever met. I don’t know if I can reach him."
Payal sat down beside her, taking Khushi’s hands in hers. "Khushi, Arnavji may be difficult to understand, but that doesn’t mean he’s beyond reach. Sometimes, the people who seem the most distant are the ones who need love the most. But you have to be sure that this is what you want."
Khushi nodded, though her mind was still clouded with doubt. "I just wish I knew what the right decision was, Jiji. I don’t want to let anyone down, but I also don’t want to make a mistake."
Payal smiled gently, brushing a stray lock of hair from Khushi’s face. "Whatever you decide, we’ll all stand by you. You’re stronger than you think, Khushi, and I believe you’ll make the right choice."
Khushi leaned into her sister’s comforting embrace, grateful for her support. "Thank you, Jiji. I just hope I can find the strength to do what’s right."
### **Raizada Mansion: A Family Discussion**
Meanwhile, at the Raizada mansion, the atmosphere was equally tense. Arnav had spent the night in restless contemplation, his thoughts consumed by the conversation with Nani and the implications of what she had suggested. The idea of marrying Khushi, of letting someone into his life in such an intimate way, was something he had never seriously considered. And yet, the more he thought about it, the more it seemed that fate was pushing him in that direction.
As Arnav sat in his study, staring blankly at the paperwork in front of him, Anjali entered the room, her expression a mix of concern and determination. She had always been able to sense when her brother was troubled, and she wasn’t about to let him face this alone.
"Chote," Anjali began gently, "we need to talk."
Arnav looked up, his eyes narrowing slightly. "Di, if this is about what Nani said—"
Anjali cut him off, her tone firm but loving. "Yes, it is. And you need to listen to me, Arnav."
Arnav sighed, leaning back in his chair. He had always found it difficult to refuse his sister, especially when she used that tone. "Fine, Di. I’m listening."
