Melody stands in front of the carnival on the pier without moving. There's probably three hundred people here, which is three hundred too many. But nevertheless I want to make this a fun day instead of a sad one.She turns around to me, "you brought me to the carnival?" I couldn't read the emotion she was giving off.
She hates it. Fuck Kent, of course you have to mess it up. "Yeah?"
In a second I'm wrapped up in Melody's arms. It takes me a second to realize that she's giving me a hug before I wrap my arms around her. "I've not been to a carnival since I was in Colorado." She mumbles.
A smile breaks out on my face, "well it's not going to be here forever. We have games to win, rides to go on." I tell her grabbing her hand and walking towards the grounds.
Booths are lined up on both sides as teenagers try to win the games. Towards the end of the pier, there's a huge Ferris Wheel that's lights are beaming in the sunset. There's a huge swing that's over the water and a few other roller coasters.
We walk around for a little bit hand in hand looking at every game. The entire time Melody and my hands are intertwined. I really hope my hand isn't sweaty. Shit I hope it's not. That's would be embarrassing. I feel like I shouldn't breathe.
Her skin is soft compared to my calloused hands. Shit, can she get any more perfect? She suddenly gasps and points through the crowd. I look down at her, "what is it?"
"There's a Photo Booth. We have to do one." She says while looking back up at me.
Just say the word, pretty girl, and I'd do anything for you. "Well what are we waiting for?" Melody immediately blushes and drags me over to the rather small Photo Booth.
We underestimated how small it actually is. First off, I barely fit inside it, and second, there's barely any room for Melody. She stands there a little awkwardly, "I don't know if this is doable."
I chuckle a little before grabbing her hips and guiding her to my lap. Bold move, Kent. A small gasp leaves her mouth before she turns around to me. Her big green eyes are filled with surprise and innocence. I laugh a little before she turns back around.
"Okay we need first pose." She says as she starts the countdown. As soon as she says that, Melody blurts out laughing at the screen. It reflected us in the booth and how crammed we were.
I stare at her with a wide smile as she continues to laugh and the camera goes off for the first photo. "We need an actual good one now." Melody says.
She must be on something because I know for a fact that photo is a cute one, mainly because Melody is the center. Taking me by surprise she wraps her arms around my neck and I wrap my arms around her waist while we both smile at the camera.
Click. I watch the screen countdown from five as I look at Melody through the screen. "What now?" I ask.
I furrow my eyebrows as she puts one of her hands on my jaw. But they soon relax and my cheeks heat up when her lips kiss my cheek. The camera goes off for the third time.
