Today is the first day of High school! I'm so excited, but also nervous at the same time. I had to move because my dad got a new job so now I'm stuck here. I've heard good and bad stories about this place. I just have a case of nerves because I haven't had a good history with girls. So, this year I have to look and act my best! Hairspray, cologne, and a nice ironed flannel shirt! I hope I make some friends this year.

"Hurry up in there!" Sal yelled at the door leading to the bathroom. "IM ALMOST DONE!" Sal's sister, Jenna yelled. They never really got along.  "Finally..." Sal mumbles as he enters the bathroom, being instantly hit with a big funk of perfume. "Jeez how much of that stuff does she spray!" He says as he grabs his toothbrush and toothpaste. He begins to brush his teeth, thinking about who he's gonna meet this year. He misses his friends, sure they picked on him, but they were all he had. He spits out the toothpaste, and stares at himself for a little bit. A little too long. He's always been insecure. Staring in the mirror didn't make it any better. "Sal! Honey! You're gonna be late for the bus!" His mom yelled. "Coming!" Sal looked in the mirror one more time before heading to the door.

It's my first day of public school, I've been homeschooled my whole life so this is a big step for me. My parents think it's best to come to school today because it's everyone's first day in high school and i wont be alone. I wanna stay home, I don't wanna go see people.

I have bad history with some people, I don't need more problems. I do nothing to get ready, I just take a shower, shove on a plain black tee and some jeans, and head out. I don't even have the correct supplies. I just have pencils and notebooks. It's all I can afford. I step onto the bus, full of sweaty boys and over-the-top girls. I search the bus for a seat before sitting to this guy with a flannel shirt and dark jeans on.

He's just staring out the window, but I understand him. This bus is not the bus I wanna be on for the next 140 days. I sigh and take out a notebook, starting to write my thoughts, I love journaling. Why would I need a therapist when I can write to myself. It stinks so bad in here, body odor and perfume mixed together. It makes me nauseous. I just hold in my breath and put on my headphones, hoping to silence all the talking. I keep writing on the notebook, about my week, what movies I've watched.

Suddenly, I feel a tap on my shoulder. "Hey, I love that movie, sorry for...invading your privacy hah.." An appealing voice speaks, it's the guy I sat next to. "Cool." I put my headphones back in as he starts to talk again, kind of getting on my nerves. "Sorry, I should introduce myself. My names Salvatore,  call me Sal." He smiles a cute smile. I mean an ador-...a warm smile. "...My names James. Nice to meet you, it's my first day here because I've been homeschooled. You?" He seems like a genuine person, maybe I already made my first friend? "Oh cool me too! I had to move because my dad got a job. Maybe...we can walk to classes together? I'm kind of nervous." And right in that moment, I knew we would be best friends.

James is so cool! We've been talking and I've never just clicked with someone so fast. We have 3 classes together but it still makes my day, we eat lunch out in the courtyard, and he makes the funniest jokes! Today we sat with a guy named Liam, he was a bit quiet but I liked him, he was cool. We were sitting down eating lunch one day. "This slop is gross" James said, playing around with it. "I know right, I'm starting to think i should start to bring my own food."

We're silent for a moment when I see James staring behind me, so I look and I see these two guys, pulling pranks on these guys. They weren't harmful though, everyone was laughing as they made their way back to sit down. I suddenly saw James get up and start to walk over to them. "What are you do-" "Going to introduce myself" He mumbled. I see him talk to them for a bit, they all laugh and joke around for a bit. I feel a bit left out, kind of like a loner.

Without James I would be alone. I look up and see them all come over, sitting at out table. "Made some friends." James said as they all introduce themselves. They were just like us! One is named Joe and the other is named Brian. We joked around and talked a little about ourselves. We all shares some interests and I found out James has the same favorite show as me! Golden girls, I know, it's weird and girly but It's my guilt pleasure what can I say! I also notice I have some classes with Brian and Joe! My first week of school went fantastic!

The four friends are all sitting in Joes basement. Sal and Murr are watching golden girls on the couch, and Joe and Q are playing a game. "Y'know. It's kind of weird for two teenage boys to be watching 'Golden Girls'" Joe says teasing Sal and James. "Shush!" Sal says. "You don't get it." Murr claims. "Just saying.." Joe says with a slight giggle. "..What do you think you'll be doing 20 years from now. What will watching Golden Girls give you" Joe says focused on the game him and Brian are playing.

"Happiness and comfort" Murr says before getting interrupted by Sal. "Comedy, a show maybe. If i keep up this pranking stuff" He says. "A show? Yeah right" Q laughs before cheering because he won the game. "Who knows?" Sal says taking a drink of his water. "On all those shows, the comedian is pranking the public. What if we did it the opposite way. What if the joke is on us? It's an upside-down hidden camera show where we're the butt of our own jokes." Sal says silencing everyone. They all think for a moment before Joe speaks up. "That's....not a bad idea?" And a few years later. It was made.
