Seonghwa

San insisted everyone to stay the night at his hut. And as an apology to Seonghwa, he decided to join them on the journey of finding the rest of the Rixa Rubin pieces. Seonghwa doubted it, it was either the male really was in his will or he was just coming along because Wooyoung was.

Nevertheless, maybe it wasn't a bad idea to have two skilled hunters by your side. Yes, the Yeosang guy was coming along. Not to mention that he might have noticed some strange details on the male.

Like he had pointed ears and mostly wore the color green, he even wore a crown made out of fresh bloomy green leaves. Seonghwa already had a hint that he wasn't quite human than he thought, he just didn't know what he actually was but decides not to question it to make it less awkward.

The sun had set about three hours ago, while everyone was being comfortable, Seonghwa tossed and turned on the floor by the loft. Wooyoung and San both on his left side, cuddling up and talking about god knows what. Why was he even sleeping beside the love couple? Maybe because he was only acacquainted with him. Everyone else around him are still strangers. Except Wooyoung and Yunho, and maybe San aswell?

It only took half an hour before everyone else was drifting to sleep. Seonghwa however still can't slumber in peace. Something was bothering his thoughts that was keeping him awake.

Was it because of the risky adventure? Or because he was surrounded by people he barely knew?

The thoughts were shaken off his mind when he noticed that there was a little window that leads to the wooden roof of the small hut. The dark starry night was shining
behind it which mesmerized Seonghwa. View so captivating that he carefully stands up to open it.

Without making a noise, he crawls up the small space and sat on the thick roof. Successfully managing to not wake anyone up.

He made himself comfortable by sitting in a cross legged position, head tilted up to admire the night stars that were glowing from many lightyears away from earth.

Why were views like this so beautiful but so hidden? People in the kingdom don't talk about the night sky enough. It was always the sun and clouds but never the moon and the stars.

Just then his attention seemed to be caight when a strange glowing insect started to fly around the roof, trying to grab his attention. Seonghwa frowned, he had never seen such bug in his life. Curiously, he tries to touch it with his fingertip when it lit up more brighter to the point that it hurted his eyes and had to look down just to avoid it.

The next thing he knew is he felt a swift of air and something light falling on his thigh. He opens his eyes, horrified to see the glowing bug was dead and stopped glowing.

He looks forward, startled when he meets Hongjoong's gaze. Seonghwa crawled back as the other joined him on the roof, a sharp pocket knife in his hands.

"They're called ilaws, they light up and if they touch your skin, it could lead to dangerous skin problems and irritations." Hongjoong says, completely unphased.

"You saved me." Seonghwa says in a small voice.

"So?"

"Thank you." he flashed him a small smile but the other didn't return it.

"Don't get the wrong idea, I just killed it because it happened to me. Horrible thing to experience. Don't start thinking like we're okay because we're definitely not."

Seonghwa's smile dropped, "I didn't say anything." he was only being nice, why is he always being pushed away?

"People like you usually get the wrong idea, no offense." he pointed.

"Why do you hate me so much?"

"Because we're enemies."

"We don't have to be, I can prove you that-"

"It's very simple. I'm a pirate, you're a royal. We were supposed to be enemies, nothing can change that."

Seonghwa frowned, "The Rixa Rubin for sure can."

"Whatever it is, it will never change the fact that your people are full of pride that they can't let a simple mistake go." Hongjoong dismissively said.

He was taken aback, "And that's why I'm here to find the Rubin. I'm not searching for life long enemies, I want a peaceful life. Why can't you understand it? See it from my point of view."

"You're too pure for this."

"Does it make you feel better? Constantly pushing away a young prince who wants nothing but for the enemies to reconcile? Is it so wrong?"

Hongjoong shook his head in disbelief, "Keep your innocence."

"Will you always think of me that way?"

"As a friend? No. As an enemy? Yes." he calmly replied.

"So you will continue to hate me while Mingi and Jongho are accepting me as their friend?"

Hongjoong was slowly losing his patience, "What do you want me to do? Be over the moon because my best friends are friends with a very naive prince? I don't understand what you want from me."

Seonghwa stared at him with his glossy eyes with each word that came out of the other's mouth. He really didn't want anything to do with him.

"You don't have to worry about it, once the mission is done. I promise that I'll never disturb you again, it depends on the other two if they feel the same way. But in the meantime, can't we just get along even for a short amount of time during this journey? Let me prove myself to you that not all your enemies are rivals."

"Nothing can change my mind, not even you." Hongjoong started to walk back to the small window.

"Just give me a reason." Seonghwa says, stopping him.

"What?" he frowned.

Seonghwa pressed lips together, "If you give me a valid reason, I'll let you be."

"I have nothing to prove to you."

"Can you atleast accept my offer? Please? Let us get along even for a bit." as much as Seonghwa hated to plead for things, he wad genuine with his words about this one. If he could get along with Mingi and Jongho, why can't he befriend Hongjoong?

Hongjoong sighs sharply, "I don't do promises, you're lucky if I still talk to you by tomorrow."

"Please?" he clasped his hands together.

"Go to sleep, we have a long way ahead of us."

Seonghwa watched Hongjoong slip through the small window, faint footsteps walking down the loft before it completely disappeared. He sighs to himself, recalling his last words before he left.

Why was he suddenly caring?

Maybe Hongjoong doesn't hate Seonghwa like he thought. What if he just didn't know how to express it? Is he being genuine or was he messing with his thoughts?

Seonghwa looks up at the sky, a sudden bright flash of a star swiped across the sky. A shooting star. Does he really hate him? Was Seonghwa falling for him? Falling for the enemy?

The more you hate, the more you love.
