Seonghwa
"We're right here, straight ahead of the island." Seonghwa pointed on the map, the compass beside it continued to point towards West.
"How are we supposed to find the next piece?" Wooyoung questioned.
Mingi pointed his fingers on a specific spot on the map, "In this area of the island is where we bury our treasure. Legends says that the stone is hidden in one of them."
"That's our answer." Seonghwa added, "Wait a minute, where is Yunho and Yeosang?" he asked after only noticing that San was sleeping on thr hammock while the others weren't present.
"Yeosang is probably looking out for Jongho, and I think Yunho was calling his dragons." Wooyoung replied, curiously grabbing a knife from one of the drawers he opened.
"Speaking of Jongho, did you guys knew he was merman before?"
Mingi opens one of the drawers, "Ofcourse we did. We accidentally captured him and his family while out sailing, he traded himself for the safety of his fellow people."
Seonghwa frowned, "Why didn't you just let him go? And he was fine with it?"
"Yes he was fine with it, his family weren't the best ones and in order to get away from them, he made the decision to join out pirate crew. I understand where he's coming from so we accepted his request, he's never been this happy ever since. You can tell he did not regret leaving his people, not to mention that they didn't even thought of looking to save him. Which shows enough of what those creatures actually are."
The tallet then handed Seonghwa a pistol, making him frown. "What am I supposed to do with this?"
"Fr safety purposes. You always have to keep an eye on these pirates, they're not quite friendly like us so I suggest to stick together if you want to stay alive." Mingi explains in a casual way that made Wooyoung's eye twitch. "Oh and you can either shoot or stab them if they annoy you."
Seonghwa was dumbfounded, holding a small pistol in his hands that Mingi found somewhere here in Hongjoong's drawers. The embarrassing thing was that everyone else knew how to use their weapons while Seonghwa was struggling to properly hold a gun.
"Island ahead!" Hongjoong shouts at the top of his lungs from the deck, catching everyone's attention.
Suddenly the whole ship started to shift again like earlier. Mingi immediately runs out of the Captain's quarter to check on the male, "Everything alright Jongho?"
Jongho was pushing the entire ship to the island incase the sirens decided to attack again. Someone had to look after the ship, "Yeah, just these strong sea kelps ahead."
"We'll have to take the boats." Hongjoong stated, making his way to the main deck. "You, Mingi, Wooyoung and San. You will be coming with me to the island, the others stay. Make sure no one steals the ship until we return. We're still far from the shore so it'll be fine."
Hongjoong pointed at everyone mentioned. Seonghwa frowning to himself when he referred to him as "you" while proceeding to call the others by their names. Did he hate him this much?
"Fuck I'll have to wake up San." Wooyoung ran back inside the Captain's quarter, about to scare the shit out of San just to wake him up.
"Jongho everything good with you?" Hongjoong looks down to see Jongho enjoying himself in his merman form.
"Totally fine." the younger chuckles, "Literally forgot how it feels like to be a merman again." he swam on his back and effortlessly doing backflips in the water.
"Doesn't that drain your energy? Nevermind, everyone get on the boats." Hongjoong ordered, the first one to sit in one of them. The boats were wide and thick enough to hold the 5 of them while the other 3 stay behind to keep an eye on the ship.
Wooyoung came running out, dragging San who just woke up and most likely jumped out of the hammock being startled. They were the next ones to get on the ship with Mingi following, leaving Seonghwa to get on last and an empty seat beside Hongjoong becausr everywhere else is occupied.
Fuck..
Mingi stretched out his hand for him to take, "Incase you're scared." he teased as Seonghwa glared at him, eventually not taking his hand and grumpily sat beside Hongjoong.
At this point Seonghwa wanted to give up on earning Hongjoong's trust and befriend him. That man wanted nothing to do with Seonghwa and he can't change the fact that what ever he does, he will be hated for life. Why he eagerly wanted to be friends with Hongjoong? He doesn't exactly know why.
He just thought that if he could be friends with Mingi and Jongho, then why can't he with Hongjoong?
But why does it matter now?
He had a curse to break and he won't let anyone distract him, not even Hongjoong himself.
Seonghwa grew terrified when they neared the coastline of the Volcano Island and he could already see thosr flithy looking pirates screaming, yelling, throwing random objects at each other. Wooyoung and him had to make eye contact to make sure they were seeing the same thing.
How are Mingi, Jongho and Hongjoong more decent looking than these?
They all got off the boat, secretly gripping on their weapons ad everyone else turned their attention to them. Breaking the chaos for a moment.
Someone then came up to them while happily clapping their hands, towards Hongjoong specifically. He had a wide and proud smile on his face as Hongjoong and Mingi infront remained unphased.
"Well if this isn't my favorite pirate crew." his deep voice slurred from drinking all day and night.
"Captain Sharp Eye." Mingi says, "We ask permission to check on our treasure."
The older man laughed at Mingi's words, "Why do you need permission? We're pirates! We steal, not ask nicely for it."
Hongjoong rolled his eyes at his typical behaviour, "Let's just go Mingi, you knew that wouldn't work. Stop making yourself look like a fool."
Just as everyone was about to leave, Sharp Eye seemed to have noticed the 3 other "pirates" that were with him. Especially Seonghwa.
"Now hold on, who is this little one?" Sharp Eye excitedly approached Seonghwa who stopped dead in his tracks.
The Captain was about to take another step forward when Hongjoong was ready to push him away but Seonghwa had shamelessly pointed his gun against Sharp Eye's stomach to stop him from continuing his tracks.
How did he think of this? He had no clue. It just happened.
"Hey, let it go." Hongjoong ordered, lucky for the older man as Seonghwa lowered the pistol.
He continued to glare at his face until a smirk formed on his filthy old face, "Do I know you?" he asked which didn't seem like a question to him.
"I don't think you do." Seonghwa calmly replies, backing away.
"Oh I do know who you are! That face! So familiar! I know who you are young man!" Sharp Eye exclaimed happily, pointing a finger in the air.
Seonghwa's heart beated fast.
Hongjoong's fists trembled because there was no way a pirate knows that Seonghwa is a royal. If he does then it would most likely end up with Seonghwa standing face to face with death. Seonghwa was in deep shit if Captain Sharp Eye actually knew he's a prince.
Seonghwa took a step forward, intensely staring at him. "Say it."
