Let me tell you the story of Amary King.
She knew from an early age that she was different. Yes, Amary was a special girl, better than those around her. Her peers were concerned with sports and other useless activities, while she learned how they worked. Her little brain tinkered with those around her. Most little girls played with dolls, but she played with people. She learned how to manipulate others early on, and it served her well her whole life.
However, this is not to say she didn't struggle. From the moment she was born, there was something wrong with her, and she knew it. The things that made her special, also made her alone. Other girls got ponies and princess dresses when they asked for them. She got screamed at and told she needed to play differently. Being born a boy was not fun at all for sweet, small, Amary King. Maybe that's why she always enjoyed control. When you got to make the rules of the game, you could play with and be whoever you wanted. Control and planning were everything to her.
Amary was a creative girl, but her parents didn't approve of her favorite activities. She loved to design two things, outfits, and traps. Both were meticulously crafted and reflected the person. One day she came home from the toy store and finally began to play with the action figure her father bought her. He was so happy that she started using it, but his joy quickly faded when he saw what she was doing to it. She tore it limb from limb and laid it out in a straight line on her desk. He asked her why she did it, and she answered.
"So he'll be scared and appreciate being back together again."
Later that week she also began to construct prisons out of building blocks and draw spiders on them, placing the same figure inside. Once again her father questioned her, and she responded by saying something that concerned him more.
"Because I learned that he's scared of spiders, so if I leave him with them, it'll be funny."
All her scenarios and symbolic fashion sketches were based on behavior and personality, a natural extension of her core ability to understand motivations and use them for entertainment.
They never brought her to a real psychologist, no, they instead took her to a program that was supposed to make her into a good boy. The hack pseudo-psychologist, of course, became scared of her. Since the psychologist was trained to see signs of manipulation, Amary had a hard time controlling him. Though, he was intent on controlling her. He shamed her so hard that her ego shattered into a million pieces. She was getting more depressed with each visit, and her parents adored it. Finally, she stopped with all of those strange ideas and overconfident tendencies.
She couldn't take how he forced her to submit and told her to disorganize every goal she made. So she killed him. It was Amary's first real kill. The moment she went from a strange and scared little girl, into a mastermind woman. She planned it out oh, so, carefully, moving in silence through each step. Until she managed to infiltrate his car and make it all look like an accident.
On some level, she regretted killing him. Wishing she had tried harder to manipulate the one person in her life who refused to comply. Though in the end, she wouldn't trade it for anything, it was the ultimate blossoming of a Belladonna. If she hadn't killed him, she might have wilted before a single petal spread.
I think labeling emotions is useless because of how often they shift for me, but I suppose I did love Amary King. Not in a "Till death do us part" way but as a type of adoration. She seemed to match my intentions and interests. A woman who felt so little, but had so many ideas and perceptions to share. She was intelligent, for as much as I have grown to hate her, there is no denying that. She made me feel seen, and there was an allure that followed her, like an expensive perfume that grew stronger the longer you smelled it
