Chapter 2 - Enter Velo!

*January 27th, 1979. Exactly 9 years after development on Project Shadow has begun. Gerald Robotnik has finally perfected Project Shadow, after finding a strange vile of blood back from his research on Earth. At least, that's what Gerald assumes. Maria sneaks in on Gerald running tests and developing Project Shadow. As she watches in secret, she starts coughing uncontrollably, and Gerald is startled.*

Gerald: "Maria, dear! You're not supposed to be here; You're supposed to be asleep."

Maria: "I know, but... I wanted to see him. It sounded like he's ready!"

Gerald: "*sighs* Very well. You're already here, so I might as well."

*Gerald lowers the blast shielding on the testing tube and reveals a Dark Hedgehog with red streaks on his body.*

Maria: "Wow! He looks so cool!"

Gerald: "Indeed he does... What do you think we should name him? I was leaning towards Terios! It roughly translates to "Brave Hearted Hero" according to ancient Trezodian text."

Maria: "How about... Shadow?"

Gerald: "Shadow? Why? Doesn't that sound like the name of a bad guy to you?"

Maria: "While Darkness is Darkness no matter what... A Shadow is the proof of light!"

Gerald: "That's.... Very profound of you, Maria. I guess it just runs in the family! *chuckles*... Alright, it's time for bed, dear."

Maria: "Wait! When will he be ready?"

Gerald: "He should be done in about a year. Just be patient Maria."

Maria: "Will he really be able to cure me?"

Gerald: "Of course he will. Now get to bed, it's late."

Maria: "Okay..... Sayonara, Shadow!"

*Present Day*

Tails: "Okay, I tracked the Chaos Emeralds, and the Master Emerald pieces to 7 points around the planet. The locations are Chun-an, Holaska, Spagonia, The Mystic Ruins, Mazuri, West Side Island, and Shamar."

Sonic: "Oh! Let's hit Mazuri first! There's a longtime friend I've been meaning to visit for a while."

Knuckles: "You have a friend in Mazuri?"

Sonic: "I've got friends all across the world, Knux! Big perk for being the fastest thing alive."

Amy: "Why do you wanna go to Mazuri first, hun?"

Sonic: "She's like a big sis to me. Before Amy, she was my closest friend. We raced, we laughed, and when I met Amy, I learned to be more than just racing buddies. We became real friends."

*Sonic and Co warp to Mazuri*

Sonia: "So where's this friend you were dying to meet?"

Sonic: "YO! VELO! GET YOUR DUMPTRUCK' TUCKUS OVER HERE, GIRL!!!!!"

*Rapid running is heard in the distance as someone approaches, and a large, curvy, scene styled cheetah tackles Sonic*

Velo: "Heya blue streak! Long time no see!"

Sonic: Good to see ya, Ve! I almost died of old age waiting for you."

Velo: "As if! I could run miles on your twunk ass!"

Sonic: "As if! I don't need to be a super tall cheetah with childbearing hips and tree trunk legs to keep up with you. So, if my math is right, and I got a super genius little brother to contest, I'm technically faster than you."

Tails: "That's not how that works, dude."

Sonic: "Eh, what do you know? You're a mechanical guy, not a biology guy."
