Raghav walked into his room and his eyes scanning the dimly lit space for any sign of Vaidehi not finding her anywhere he walked further inside the room his footsteps quiet on the plush carpet
He spotted her standing alone in the balcony her gaze lost in the dark sky with empty eyes
His heart ached as he approached her his movements gentle as he slowly wrapped his strong arm around her waist his other hand resting on the railing he kept his chin on her head after peaking it
She slowly held his hand which was around her waist her fingers intertwining with his as she held onto him tightly a sob escaped her lips and she closed her eyes memories of the past 14 days flooding her mind. The pain the fear the helplessness the discomfort it all came rushing back
She turned around and looked at him while sobbing uncontrollably her tears streaming down her face uncontrollably Raghav's expression softened as he lightly cares her cheek gently brushing her hairs behind her ear
he pulled her into a warm embrace holding her close as she cried out her pain.
His arms enveloped her a safe haven from the storms that had ravaged her
She clung to him her heart breaking and healing at the same time her fist tighten on his shirt near his heart as She buried her face deeper into his chest her sobs growing more intense
He tighten his grip around her letting her feel safe and secure. He didn't say a word just let her cry her heart out his silence a testament to his unwavering support
But his eyes told a different story. They turned dark his anger visible seeing her this vulnerable. His jaw clenched his muscles tensed as if he was fighting to restrain himself from unleashing his fury on those who had hurt her. Yet he remained still his focus on comforting her
Noticing the way she was crying he gazed down at her who was hiding her face in his chest wanting to escape from everything
he noticed Her sobs seemed to hold a thousand untold stories a million unshed tears
Of course what Vidyut did can be traumatizing but he knows his devi really well
This much that he was sure there is something else as well he knew his queen was strong but he also knew she was sensitive and that someone had taken advantage of that or else she wouldn't be crying like this . His jaw clenched his mind racing with possibilities
his instincts screamed at him to uncover the truth and hunt down the demons that haunted her
But for now he just held her his embrace softly patting her back mumbling sweet things to her
Raghav "Shh it's ok I'm here " he spoke
his words were gentle his touch soothing as he tried to comfort his woman
Finally after what seemed like an eternity Vaidehi's sobs stopped her body still shaking as She remained glued to Raghav her face buried in his chest her arms wrapped tightly around him like a second skin.
He slowly made her look at him still wrapped in each other's embrace With gentle fingers he wiped away her tears He peeked her forehead then her cheeks then her eyelids then her tip of nose and lastly her lips
Then with a swift motion he slipped his hand under her legs picking her up in a bridal style carrying her in his arms
He walked inside their room his eyes never leaving hers
He sat on the bed his back against the headrest with her still in his lap
her head in the crook of his neck as she felt safe and protected in his embrace his arms wrapped around her holding her close
After making sure she was calm he gently made her face him her legs wrapped around his toes her one hand on his shoulder and the other resting on his chest not leaving any space between them. He cupped her cheek gently his eyes locked on hers
He cluped her cheek gently
Raghav " tell me everything that happened " He asked his voice soft and gentle encouraging her to open up
Raghav's eyes searched hers his gaze piercing yet tender as he waited for her to reveal the truth. He knew she had been through something traumatic something that had left her shaken and vulnerable. He wanted to know each and everything she been through in his absence
Vaidehi took a deep breath her eyes locked on Raghav's and began to tell him everything. She recounted the nightmare the feeling of being trapped and helpless. She told him about the call the chilling words that had left her shaken
She shared every single detail her voice trembling at times but Raghav's steady gaze and gentle touch encouraged her to continue. She told him about the fear that had gripped her the sense of being watched and the feeling of being completely alone.
As she spoke Raghav's expression changed from concern to shock and finally to a deep-seated anger. His jaw clenched his eyes narrowed and his arms tightened around her as if he wanted to shield her from the world.
Vaidehi felt a weight lift off her shoulders as she shared her burden with him
Vaidehi " you know the person said I was the reason for my parents deaths "
Raghav " and what exactly was your fault in that "
Vaidehi " but that person came to kill me-"
Raghav " that doesn't justify a thing devi that person was trying to make you weak by mentioning your parents you also know that.........right "
She slowly nodded her head and he smiled softly
Raghav " then why are you feeling GUILTY about that "
She again hugged him closing her eyes
Vaidehi " I am missing them " she said in a low voice snuggling her face in his chest As tears again started flowing from her eyes
While his heart pounding with rage mind racing with numerous thoughts But for now he just held her tight in his embrace away from every evil eyes
After some time Vaidehi's tears finally stopped and her body relaxed exhausted from the emotional turmoil She fell asleep still sitting on Raghav's lap her face resting against his chest Raghav looked down at her face his eyes fille with mixed emotions
Raghav vow to himself the no matter who ever this person is he won't be in peace for long
Raghav " I promise to end this so called f*ing game pretty soon "
He spoke his voice low and menacing words dripping with the weight of that promise
His eyes seemed to burn with an inner fire a flame that would consume everything in its path. The air around him seemed to vibrate as if the very universe was waiting for him to unleash his wrath
Hearing about the call thing he remembered the call he got the day after his coronation
Flash back
?? "Hukum the game's barely begun and you're already trembling with fear?"
Raghav's frown deepened, his eyes narrowing
Raghav"Who is this?"
A text notification pinged and Raghav's gaze flicked to the screen. A message from an unknown number
?? "You've got a present, enjoy..."
The line went dead Raghav's eyes snapped back to the phone his mind racing. He opened the message, and a recording launched, the voice sending shivers down his spine giving him the biggest shock of his life
In the call recording He heard his father's voice
Mahavir " kill them"
?? " Yuvr-aj they are you-r fami-ly "
Mahavir " JUST DO AS I SAY "
