Previously On The Eternal Burden:
For centuries, I have lived in secrecy, but everything changed when Stefan made the decision to disregard the risks involved. Elena, a dead ringer for Katherine, captured his attention. Their affection for Katherine isn't authentic, and Damon is adamantly determined to bring her back.
Just yesterday, Damon almost lost his life in a fight with Lee, Lexi's ex-boyfriend, who sought revenge for Lexi's death at Damon's hands. Elena learned a shocking truth about her past - that she was adopted.
In the midst of these chaotic events, I've been stalked by an enigmatic European vampire who wants my magic, and I've had recurrent dreams featuring three rings of fire. Could this be a warning or a message?
My name is Nataleea Labelle, and I'm bound by a curse that has forced me to keep a low profile for centuries. Now, I find myself caught in the middle of this supernatural drama web, with no choice but to fight for survival or find a way to end the chaos before it consumes us all.
The sound of crackling fire fills the air once more. I approach three women standing within a ring of flames, but their identities remain obscured. In the background, I spot a witch reciting incantations and adding ingredients to a bowl. Suddenly, their shouts fill the air, jarring me awake. It's the same dream I've had before – a scene that feels like a glimpse into the past or a disturbing prophecy for the future. Could it be a sacrificial ceremony?
I start my day as usual, putting on a black denim pleated skirt paired with a casual top and some boots. I begin my morning by sipping a glass of blood. Lately, Stefan's been generous, splitting the blood bags he steals from the blood bank with me. I carefully store the extra blood bags in the fridge, saving them for later.
Today was supposed to be a relaxed day, but my phone rang, and it was Stefan. He requests that I prepare some vervain tea and craft a vervain bracelet. Then, he explains their plan to catch the vampire from yesterday, who broke into Elena's place. Thankfully, Stefan interrupted him, saving Elena from potential harm.
First, I take out a braided leather strap with a small metal locket securely attached. I place the bracelet in a bowl of liquid vervain to soak. Then, I fill the locket with lavender and vervain herbs. Next, I mix my usual blend of chamomile, mint, vervain, hibiscus, and lavender tea, placing it in a decorative tin. Lastly, I grab a small metal tea strainer and set it next to the tin.
After getting everything ready, I drive over to the Gilbert house and knock on the door gently. Elena opens it, and I say, "Hey Elena, I brought some tea for your aunt and a bracelet for Jeremy. It has a bit of vervain in it."
