A milkman was getting ready to deliver to his favorite customer Banchina. He had a massive crush on her and everyone knew well expect for Banchina herself.
He happily walked to the house up at the hill but paused as he read crying from inside. He knocked on the door but was surprised that the door wasn't lock and automatically opened by his knock.
"Uh—hello?" He called out and awkwardly waits but nothing. "Uh—I'm coming in.." he called out again and entered in. He looked around and paused when he saw Usopp and Y/n crying to themselves.
He rushed over to the kids "kids, what's wrong?" He asked worryingly and the two don't respond to him as they hug each other. He looked back at the room they were crying in front of and realized the situation. These last few months he noticed himself whenever he needed to deliver milk to the home that it wasn't Banchina who would come get the milk like usual but it was always usopp. And whenever he did see her she looked pale and sickly.
He realized she wouldn't be around for much longer now as the situation set in, his heart clenched and he looked at the kids. There wasn't a proper adoption center in this town as compared to their neighboring islands. They would have to live on the streets or be separated at the very least. He puts down the milk cartons and sat next to the kids.
Banchina was one of the few kind people in the town but she wouldn't be here for long. He clenched his fist as he heard snippets of the doctors conversations over the kids crying. "Why don't we go talk a walk?" He suggested and the two kids follow him as their crying settled down.

It had been a year since Banchina's death. The milkman whose name is Thando took Y/n and usopp under his care. He quit his milkman job since it took too much time away from taking care of Usopp and Y/n. He now works at Meshi as the cook.
Y/n is now seven and usopp is eight. The two were eating pasta that Thando had made for them before he had to get ready for work. Y/n was making shapes with her pasta as usopp was eating his while watching tv.
The doorbell rang and usopp raised an eyebrow. "Is Mr Thando expecting anyone?" He said and Y/n shrugged. Thando came out of his room and was dressed for work in his uniform.
He opened the door and was shocked. There stood a women who look malnourished and a few seconds away from collapsing but she continued to push her limit and spoke tiredly to the man.
"Is..y/n..here" Thando stared at the woman and slowly tensed up and blocked the woman's view from inside. "I'm sorry...who are you?" The woman tears up "I'm her mother..Julia, please show me her.." Thando was shocked at the revelation and looked over at the two kids who were completely oblivious to the conversation and just continued with their breakfast.
"Y/n, you have a guest." Y/n looked up from her plate and went to Thando's side. He kept a hold on the young girls shoulder just in case.
Julia walked inside and Y/n stared at her confused. Julia's heart broke as Y/n seemed to forget what she looked like completely. "Y/n it's me..your mother"
The young girl stared at her shocked, it's been three years since she had last seen her mother. She held onto the swan necklace and continued to stare at her mother, before she knew it tears were streaming down her face. Thando lets go of Y/n's shoulder and Y/n's legs automatically ran to Julia.
She hugged her mother and sobbed. Her mother winced in pain but continued to comfort her daughter.
Usopp stared at the two and Thando went over to him and pats his shoulder, usopp looked up at Thando and Thando smiled at the young boy. Usopp slowly smiled back and looked over at Y/n and her mother who were still hugging each other.
