[Maison, Early Morning]
The early morning sun cast a soft light over the Maison as the group stirred from their sleep. Kazuma, having barely recovered from his previous encounter with Horikita’s intense training regimen, was already dreading what the new day might bring.
Kazuma stretched, his muscles still aching from the previous day. *I can’t believe I survived that,* he thought, wincing as he moved. *Why does Horikita have to be so intense?* He groaned inwardly, hoping today would be different.
But as Kazuma prepared to slip out and avoid any more unnecessary pain, the door to his room slid open, and in stepped Horikita, her usual stern expression in place.
“It’s time for your morning training,” Horikita announced, crossing her arms.
Kazuma’s eyes widened in horror. “Morning training? Again? You’ve got to be kidding me!”
“No excuses,” Horikita replied, her tone leaving no room for argument. “You need to be in better shape if you want to survive in this world. Yesterday was just the beginning.”
Kazuma sighed in defeat, knowing there was no way out of this. “Fine... but can you at least go easy on me?”
“We’ll see,” Horikita said, a small smirk playing on her lips. “Let’s go.”
Kazuma reluctantly followed her outside, dreading what was to come. They headed to the training area behind the Maison, where Horikita had set up various equipment—much to Kazuma’s dismay.
“Start with push-ups,” Horikita instructed, her eyes narrowing as she observed his every move.
Kazuma groaned but complied, dropping to the ground and beginning his push-ups. His arms still trembled from yesterday’s training, making each movement a struggle.
Horikita watched silently, her eyes sharp. “You’re still not at your best, Kazuma. Push harder.”
“I’m pushing as hard as I can!” Kazuma gasped, sweat dripping down his face.
“You need to push past your limits if you want to improve,” Horikita said, her tone unyielding. “After push-ups, we’ll move on to running.”
Kazuma’s heart sank. *Running too? This is torture!* he thought, but he kept his mouth shut, knowing it was pointless to argue.
As the training continued, Kazuma’s mind wandered to the other residents of the Maison. *I bet everyone else is still sleeping in or doing something less painful... Why do I always get stuck with this?*
Finally, after what felt like hours, Horikita called for a break. Kazuma collapsed onto the grass, panting heavily. “This... is... hell...” he muttered.
“You’re getting stronger,” Horikita observed, a hint of approval in her voice. “But there’s still a long way to go.”
“Can’t we take a day off?” Kazuma pleaded, looking up at her with exhausted eyes.
" Why am I doing this, anyways?"
Horikita replied bluntly. “Resting too much will make you weak again.”
Kazuma let out a groan of despair, knowing there was no escape. *This is my life now...*
After the grueling morning training, Kazuma found himself walking along the forest path, hoping to find a quiet spot to rest and escape from Horikita’s watchful eye. The cool breeze and rustling leaves were a welcome change from the harsh training.
As he walked, Kazuma’s thoughts drifted. *I really miss the days when all I had to worry about was surviving Aqua’s antics. Now I have to deal with this...*
