AUTHOR'S POV

He hovers over the send button for a few seconds, his heart pounding in his chest. He isn't usually this nervous, but the thought of baring his feelings to someone he is so attracted to is making him anxious. With a deep breath, he hits send and puts his phone down. He nervously waits for her response, hoping that she'll agree to meet him and that she won't reject him outright. Finally, after what feels like an eternity, he sees a notification on his phone. It's a text from Prisha, and he opens it with a mix of anticipation and nervousness. His palms are sweaty as he reads the text. He holds his breath, unsure of what to expect.

Prisha: "Sure, I'm free today. Where do you want to meet?"

Karthik's heart skips a beat as he reads her reply. He lets out a sigh of relief and then quickly types back a response.

Karthik: "How about the coffee shop near my office? I can meet you in an hour."

After a few minutes, her response comes in.
Prisha: "Alright, I'll see you there in an hour."

Karthik couldn't help but smile at her quick response. He now had an hour to prepare himself and mentally gather his thoughts.

Karthik spent the next hour getting ready for the meeting with Prisha. He freshened up, changed into a nice outfit, and tried to composed himself. He felt nervous and excited at the same time, unsure of how Prisha would react to his feelings. Karthik reaches the coffee shop a few minutes early, feeling a mix of anticipation and nerves. He finds a quiet spot and settles into a seat, waiting for Prisha to arrive. As he waits, he wonders how she will react when he spills his true feelings for her. He looks up as the door opens and Prisha enters the coffee shop. His heart skips a beat as he sees her, looking stunning as usual. He watches as she looks around and spots him. She gives him a small smile and makes her way over to his table.  Karthik stands up as she approaches, offering her a chair. He is mesmerized by her beauty and presence, and he can't help but feel a flutter of nervousness in his stomach. makes her way over to his table.

He takes a deep breath and meets her gaze, trying to keep his voice steady.
"Thank you for coming. I wanted to talk to you about something important."
Karthik was about to speak, but his words were interrupted by the sudden sound of a phone ringing. He looks at Prisha, who seems a little uneasy as she glances at her bag on the chair beside her. She hesitates for a moment, then apologetically says.
"I'm so sorry, I need to take this call. It's a work emergency."
She fishes out her phone from her bag, and as she looks at the screen, her expression visibly changes.
He tries not to eavesdrop, but he can't help but overhear her side of the conversation. She speaks in a stern and authoritative tone, clearly dealing with a difficult client or case. He waits patiently, his heart feeling heavy. He had been so close to spilling his feelings, but this call had interrupted the moment. He watches her pace a few steps away, her voice growing more agitated with each passing minute. Finally, after what feels like an eternity, Prisha ends the call and returns to the table. She looks visibly drained and frustrated, her earlier composed demeanor replaced by a mix of annoyance and exhaustion.

Karthik can't help but notice the change in her mood. He tries to keep the conversation light but can't help but ask
"Is everything alright? That call seemed pretty intense."
Prisha takes a deep breath before responding.
"Yeah, it was just a difficult client. They're being unreasonable and difficult to deal with. But I'm handling it, don't worry about it."
He wants to say something, to offer comfort or a distraction, but he's aware that the moment for his confession has passed. He decides to change the subject, steering the conversation in a different direction. He clears his throat and looks at her apologetically.
"I'm sorry we got interrupted. I had something important to discuss with you, but it can wait. You look tired. How about we just grab a coffee and relax for a bit?"
Prisha nods, grateful for the change in topic. She manages a small smile and says "That sounds like a good idea. My client just loves to drag things out. Coffee would definitely help."

Back at home, Nikhil is reflecting on his behavior as a husband. He knows he hasn't been the best partner to Prisha, and the guilt is eating away at him. He compares her to Myra, the woman he is currently involved with, and it makes him feel even worse. He thinks about how Prisha has always been supportive and understanding, despite all his flaws. He remembers how she has stood by him through tough times, and he can't help but feel a pang of remorse for not appreciating her more. Nikhil knows that his marriage to Prisha wasn't based on love, but rather a business deal that benefited both their families. Still, he can't shake the feeling that he has been unfair to her, especially since he has fallen in love with Myra. He wonders if he should end things with Myra and try to rebuild his relationship with Prisha, but the thought of losing Myra makes him feel conflicted. He loves both women, but he can't have both at the same time, and he knows it will lead to more heartbreak and guilt.

Nikhil starts to doubt if Myra is really serious about him. She gives him mixed signals, showering him with love and affection sometimes, and then pulling away at other times. He starts to wonder if she truly loves him or if she's just using him for her own gain. Nikhil contemplates his relationship with Myra, wondering if she genuinely wants a future with him. He considers the possibility of starting a family, but he isn't sure if Myra would be ready for that level of commitment. Nikhil notices that Myra has brought up the topic of marriage more frequently recently. She seems to be in a hurry to tie the knot, which makes him question her intentions even more. He worries that she might just be after his status and wealth, not truly loving him for who he is. The fact that Myra is best friends with Prisha adds another layer of complexity to the situation. Nikhil starts to feel even more guilty and conflicted, as he knows that he's dating his wife's best friend behind her back. He dreads the thought of what will happen if Prisha ever finds out the truth. Nikhil starts to worry about what would happen if Myra finds out that he is already married, and not only that, but to her best friend as well. He imagines the look of betrayal and hurt on Myra's face when she discovers that he's been lying and cheating on his wife this whole time.

He is doomed.
