AUTHOR'S POV

Prisha's resolve hardened, and with a sudden surge of determination, she pushed open the door and stepped into the room, her eyes locking onto Nikhil and Myra's faces. A hushed silence enveloped the space as Prisha's unexpected entrance caught both Myra and Nikhil off guard. They turned their attention toward her, their eyes widening in surprise and tension. "I couldn't help but overhear your conversation," Prisha began, her tone steady yet betraying a touch of anguish.

She turned her gaze directly towards Myra, her voice softening with a hint of apology. "Myra, I never realized the depth of your jealousy and insecurity. I never meant for you to feel overshadowed or overlooked." Prisha paused, gathering her thoughts and emotions, before continuing. "I always saw you as my equal, my closest friend. But hearing your words now, I realize I failed to make you feel seen and acknowledged." She shifted her gaze to Nikhil, her voice laced with a mix of disappointment and sadness. "And you, Nikhil, I never imagined you would be drawn into this tangled web, caught in the crossfire of our past mistakes."

Prisha's gaze hardened as her attention shifted back to Myra. "However, Myra, while I understand your pain and jealousy, I can't condone the actions you've taken. Pursuing someone else's husband out of jealousy and revenge is not the way to address your insecurities." She then redirected her words to Nikhil, her tone firmer. "And you, Nikhil, your deceit and betrayal have shattered the trust I once had in you. I never thought you could be so callous and unfaithful." Prisha's gaze softened as she turned her attention back to Myra. "As for you, Myra, we've shared a long history. We've laughed, cried, and supported each other. We once called each other best friends. But I can't overlook the pain and resentment you've harbored towards me for so long, and I can't condone your involvement with Nikhil." Myra's voice trembled with a mix of guilt and defensiveness as she responded to Prisha's words. "You don't understand, Prisha. You've always had it all - beauty, intelligence, success. Everything I ever wanted came so effortlessly to you. It's not fair."

Prisha sighed, her expression a blend of sadness and understanding. "Myra, life's not a competition. Our paths and experiences are different, and just because I've had certain things come easily, it doesn't mean I didn't work for them. Each person has their own journey, and comparison leads to nothing but jealousy and envy."

With a heavy heart, but resolute, Prisha made her decision. "I can't continue this friendship with you, Myra. The foundation we had was built on trust, laughter, and shared dreams. But that friendship has been shattered. Too much pain and deceit has come between us." Her eyes welled up with tears, but she fought back the emotion, her tone unwavering. "We can't go back to a time when our bond was unbroken and innocent. The damage has been done, and I need to distance myself for my own peace and well-being."

Myra's face hardened as she listened to Prisha's decision. She had expected backlash, but the finality in Prisha's words stung more than she wanted to admit. "After all we've been through, all the memories we share, is this it for us?" Myra's eyes glistened with unshed tears, her voice trembling as she grappled with the reality of Prisha's decision. Prisha took a deep breath, her words carrying a note of finality. "Our friendship can no longer be salvaged. For the sake of our own well-being and future, we need to go our separate ways." Prisha's voice softened, a tinge of doubt creeping into her tone. "I have to ask, Myra. Did you ever truly see me as a friend? Or was our friendship tainted by your jealousy and resentment?" "Were our shared moments, our laughter and tears, only a mask for your underlying envy and bitterness?" Prisha's eyes searched Myra's, seeking for an honest answer, even if it might hurt to hear it.

Myra's voice trembled as she answered, her vulnerability laid bare. "I genuinely cared about you, Prisha. But it was always overshadowed by my jealousy and insecurity. I was torn between wanting to be like you and hating you for the life you had." "It's complicated," Myra continued, her voice strained. "I wanted what you had. Your success, your charisma, your ability to make everyone love you. But I couldn't escape the comparison, the feeling of being overshadowed and left behind."
