Chapter 4: Keres

"What do you mean I look like my father?" I looked at Ai. Very confused.

"Well your father Jesse and I met in college. I was a newly formed goddess who lost her powers. He never noticed me until we bumped into each other." Ai said calmly towards me.

"What else happened?" I asked Ai intrigued.

"I fell for him as soon as he bumped into me in the halls. He was locked in on your mother Mayumi. I didn't think that her love would last." She said calmly.

"That's so interesting! I can't believe you are a goddess Ai." I said excitedly.

"That's not all that happened." She told me as she continued. "We went to a library and your mothers boyfriend babbled to your father for looking at her. He walked over and your father sucker punched him. Then walked away leaving Mayumi wanting him."

"Dad was a fighter. Really? He sucker punched mom's boyfriend?" I asked as I was outstandingly surprised.

"We went to his house and we made love. At 2 am I found out I was pregnant with your sister. I called him and told him." She said sadly.

"Well where is she? Where's my sister?" I asked her enthusiastically.

"I don't know. After I gave birth I had to leave for my realm. I couldn't stay any longer. I put your sister up for adoption then left." She said painfully.

"Well I want to find her and see her. Can you please try to find her location?" I pleaded with her.

"Fine, I'll try to find her location. But I'm not making any promises for being able to find her."

"Deal!" I say with enthusiasm.

She starts to fade as I wake up in my bed at Hiroko's house. I looked around and yawned before I stood up. I walked to the bureau and opened the drawers. I took out a spare change of clothes. Once I got the clothes I walked to the bathroom. I got in the bathroom and took a shower.

Once I got out of the shower I changed into my new clothes. I got out of the bathroom and went back to my room to put the clothes away. I put them in my laundry basket then headed downstairs to eat. When I got downstairs. I got to the Dining hall and sat down. I waited 10 minutes before everyone got there. Once everyone got there we started to eat.

"So Keres. How's living with us so far?" Rin asked me calmly.

"I'm liking it a lot." I replied.

"How are you doing in school kiddo?" Jamal asked me.

"I'm doing alright. But I would like to start public school if possible." I said with a bit of enthusiasm.

"Alright I will put you back into my school. I'm the principal of it." Jamal stated.

"What's your school's name?" I asked him.

"Well it's Westley Elementary school. You came to me with Sophie. I called Suzu down to tour you." He said.

"Oh yea. Now I remember you." I replied.

"So I will get you enrolled again then I will Tell you within the next few days or weeks." he said calmly.

"Alright! I am looking forward to it." I replied excitedly.

We finished dinner then I went outside to the city. I went to the gate then walked towards the city again. I got to the end of the sidewalk and waited for the light to turn white to cross. A girl stops beside me. I see her in my peripheral vision looking at me.

The crossing light shows it's ok to cross. I start walking as she looks at me, not moving an inch. I cross the street and walk towards the park once again. I hear heavy footsteps as she runs past me.
