Takes in a deep breath.

"Huff.. "

Knock knock

The door opens, revealing a tall man with uncared facial hair, finely muscled body and dark circles under his sea green eyes along with a cigarette butt in between his index and middle finger.

He smelled like smoke.

"Oh?.. and who do we have here?"

Elara looks at him with frowned brows, trying not to look away. A slight tint of pink visible on her cheeks.

Vance looked at her with hooded eyes, amused by her reaction.

He bent down a bit, just to match her level and spoke again, "what brings you here?"

"Hello, er.. Uncle. I got you some groceries, may I come in?"
She raises the bag of groceries and fresh vegetables to show it to him.

"Oh?"

"Hm.. 'Lright, come in."

They both get in as Vance casually kicks the door behind him close, making Elara flinch a little.

Vance chuckled at this, ruffling her hair into a mess as he walked past her.

"I'm guessing Xavier sent you here." Vance inquired.

"Yeah.. He is your friend after all."

He grins, looking at her from top to bottom "right, what a lovely brotherhood we have.. "

"I'm just going to ignore that you're checking me out."

"Oh? No no, it's just that your style is different from usual."

"Nice excuse, old man."

"It's genuine."

She scoffs, looking around the area which he called 'home'. The things were pretty messed up. The flower pots were scattered and the plants were beginning to decay. There was dust visible from a mile apart on the furniture and the classic spider webs, of course.

"Were you Hibernting?"

Vance glances at her, quite taken back. "No?"

"Are you an animal?" She sighed.

"I mean.. " He looks at himself and then at his back, to check if there's a tail.

"You surely carry a lot of humour, uncle."

"Is that a compliment?" He grinned widely.

Elara rolled her eyes at him, soon searching for his kitchen.

"Guide me to the kitchen, will ya?" She said, quite annoyed.

"At your command~" He stated walking to the kitchen while she followed him after.

"May I cook you a meal as well? You look half dead." She said with a hint of kindness in her voice.

"Are you sure you're ready to spend your precious time on that?" He paused before speaking again.

"On me?"

There was silence for a few seconds before Elara decided to reply to him.

"I have already thought about that. Don't worry, uncle. You're not wasting my time. I have my mind set for the worst today, be it wasting my 'precious' time."

"Wise words from a wise woman." He chuckled, amused by her choice of words.

A smile tugs at the corner of Elara's Lips, showing interest. "Do you own an apron?"
