Today was your least favorite day of the year, your yearly check-up. Oh, how you despised the appointment. You hated being poked and prodded at, taking several tests that your Uncle Mad insisted were good for your health. But the thing you hated most were needles.

Every year it was the same ordeal. He would bring it out, and you would try to run away. Each year you had to be held down by one of your uncles. This year, you sat in your Uncle Gaston's lap. He held you in a bear hug as you squirmed in his arms, demanding to be set free. Your eyes watched as Mad approached with the syringe.

"Now hold still (Y/N), Just a quick pinch and it will be done," he said as he cleaned your arm with an alcohol swab.

"No, I don't want it!" you screamed, watching as the syringe approached your arm. You let out an ear-piercing scream as the syringe poked your skin. Tears fell down your face as mad injected the liquid into you. It was but a moment before it was removed.

"See (Y/N), you did it," Gaston said as he loosened his grip. "That wasn't so bad now was it?"

"It hurt," you whined as the mad doctor placed a purple bandage over it.

"I know, but you were very brave." Mad then reached into his pocket and pulled out a yellow star "Brave patients get stickers." he held it out.

Grumpily you took the sticker. It was very sparkly, shimmering against the light. It even had sunglasses. You liked the sticker, but don't feel like being cherry. "Thanks," you mumbled as Gaston sat you on the ground.

Unbeknownst to you, little Eliza was standing outside the room. Her check-up would be tomorrow, but after seeing the fight you gave them, She thought that Mad was a bad person trying to hurt you and that he would hurt her as well. She quickly rushed past the room to your shared room to hide. She never wanted to step foot into that room again.

The next day you were in a much better mood. As an additional reward for being brave, you got to do your lessons outside today. You found yourself skipping down the hall, pulling your Uncle Claude along by his hand. It wasn't long before you entered the wing of the castle that held your room. As you approached, you heard the small cries of your younger sister as well as the comforting voices of Aunt Gothel and Uncle Mad. you slowed your pace, stopping outside your shared room.

You saw Eliza, crying into your aunt's shoulder who was sitting on the ground. Across from them was your uncle Mad who was holding your toy doctor's kit. You looked at the scene with confusion, why was Eliza so afraid of Mad?

You looked up at Frollo, confused. "Uncle Claude, why is Eliza afraid of Uncle Mad?"

Frollo knelt down to your level as he tried to explain. "Eliza is afraid because she saw you put up a fight during your injection yesterday. She thinks he's gonna hurt her instead of helping her."

Your brows furrowed into even more confusion "But he's not gonna hurt her. Sure the shot hurts, but he does it to keep us healthy. Besides, she's done check-ups before. Why is she afraid now?" she said, turning back.

"That's right." Frollo nodded "but Eliza is still a bit young to understand that. She doesn't remember her last few check-ups. That's why Gothel and Mad are trying to make her feel more comfortable."

You glanced back to your room. You felt your heart break as you watched your sister cry into your aunt's shoulder. "Can I help?" you question not looking away.

"I think that would be a wonderful idea," Frollo said, getting off the floor. He followed you as you entered the room.

"Eliza, I know you're scared, but Uncle Mad doesn't have any real tools. He just wants to show you what he's gonna do." Gothel said as she patted Eliza's back.

"No, he hurt (Y/N). He's gonna hurt me too." Eliza cried.

"He didn't hurt me," you said, entering the room.

Gothel and Mad both turned to look at you. Small smiles appear on their faces. Even Eliza looked up for a moment, face all red and puffy from crying. "He didn't?" she asked.

"No." you half lied.

"Then why were you crying? I saw you fighting and crying," she asked, looking ready to cry again in Gothel's arms.

You were about to respond when Mad interjected. "(Y/N), perhaps you can help me demonstrate a checkup for Eliza?" he asked, taping his gloved finger against the toy doctor's kit.

At first, you wanted to say no, not wanting to have to go through another check-up again. But the look on your sister's face tugged at your heartstrings, making you give in. You reluctantly nodded as Mad patted the ground next to him. "Excellent, come sit next to me so you can show Eliza that check-ups aren't scary."

You reluctantly walk over, plopping a squat next to Mad. you and Eliza watched as he opened up the toy doctor's kit, pulling out the stethoscope. "First I would get your height and weight, then I would see how your heart and lungs are doing with a stethoscope," Mad explained as he placed it on your chest. You giggled as he moved it around.

"Next I will take your temperature." He put the stethoscope back and took out the thermometer. He held it against your forehead and pressed the trigger, and a very hot, sweating smiley face appeared. "That can't be right, this thing says you have a fever." Mad chuckled as he showed it to Eliza, who was now gaining interest. She giggled at the smiley face.

"I'm sure it's just a fluke, but just in case." he held it up to your forehead once more. He pulled the trigger, and this time a happy, healthy smiley face appeared. "Much better." You and Eliza both giggled as he put the thermometer down.

One by one the mad doctor picked up the play tools and used them on you. He explained every step to Eliza, who was now calmly sitting watching it unfold in front of her.

"And to conclude it, a simple injection," he said as he held up the toy syringe. You flinched when you saw it at first, but quickly reminded yourself it was just pretend. You watched as he brought it to your arm, pretending to inject you which made you giggle.

He then put the syringe away and closed up the kit. "And when we're done, I usually give (y/n) a sticker."

"Sticker?" Eliza questioned with excitement.

"Indeed my little flower, but to get it you need to do the check-up," Gothel said as she ran her hand through Eliza's hair.

"I'll do it, I want a sticker!" Eliza shouted, getting up onto her feet.

"That's the spirit," Mad said as he stood up along with you and Gothel. "Gothel, why don't you take Eliza to the infirmary, I'll be there in a minute."

Gothel nodded as she scoped Eliza up in her arms. "Come on my little flower, let's get this over with so you can earn your sticker." You watched with a smile as your sister and Aunt left the room. It felt good to help your sister overcome her fear.

It was then you felt a hand on your shoulder. "That was very kind of you (y/n)," Frollo said, proud of you for helping your sister.

Mad thanked you as well. "Indeed, I know it wasn't something you weren't expecting, but I appreciated the help." you let out a smile as you heard him whisper above you. It was as if he was trying to convey something without you knowing, but your ears picked up everything. "By the way, I forgot to give her an S-H-O-T. I'll need to see her when you're done with-"

"Shot?!" you shouted, interrupting them. Frollo gave you a stern look as Mad looked surprised. He didn't think you would know how to spell yet, but you were much smarter than he thought. You quickly bolted from the room before they could say anything else.

"(Y/N) get back here!" Frollo shouted, but it was too late as you had already made it to the staircase to find a place to hide.
