After a long, hard week of learning and lots of assignments. You and Eliza had earned your reward, a trip to the pond. You and Eliza loved going to the pond, looking at the frogs, feeding the ducks, picking flowers, and having a picnic on the grass. Even though it was an educational outing, it was an outing nonetheless. Any chance you could get to escape the castle, you took it.
"Girls, hurry up. We don't have all day." you heard Gothel call from downstairs. You and Eliza were busy in your shared bedroom, packing a bag for your adventure.
"Be down in a second," you called, shoving your flower press notebook into the satchel. There was also a magnifying glass, a few jars for collecting items, a notebook, and pencils.
"We ready to go?" Eliza asked, sitting over you as you zipped up the backpack. You slid it on over your head with ease as you nodded. "Yep, let's go." you stuck out your hand for your sister to take. She gladly took it and you both raced out of your room and down the stairs to the grand hall.
In the grand hall, your Aunt Gothel was waiting, holding the Picnic blanket. "There are my flowers." she greeted you both with her usual smile. "Are you girls all set?"
You and Eliza nodded enthusiastically, ready to bounce off the walls. "Are we taking the horses this time?" you questioned, hoping you wouldn't have to walk.
"Yes we are," she turned to the main door opening them so you could leave "Claudes out there now getting them ready."
"Yay! Horses!" Eliza shouted. She loved the horses, claiming they were her favorite animal.
Gothel led you both out back to the stables. Some of your aunts and uncles had motorized vehicles, cars they called it. While others, like your Aunt Gothel and Uncle Claude, preferred nature's form of transportation. You like the horses too, especially your uncles.
When you all got to the stables, you saw that Frollo had finished getting the horses all saddled up. There was the black stallion your uncle road called Snowball, and the light brown mare your aunt owned named Ginger.
"Good morning, my angles. Are we ready for our outing?" Frollo asked as he noticed you all heading in his direction.
"Yes, uncle/Father," you and Eliza said in unison as you raced over to him.
"I love Horses!" Eliza squealed as she looked up at the mare and stallion that were almost three times her height. She reached out her hand towards Ginger, who lowered her head for her to pat. You couldn't help but smile at your sister.
"Alright, let's get this show on the road. (Y/N) You'll go with your uncle, Eliza you're with me." Gothel said as she scooped Eliza up in her arms. She giggled as your aunt placed her on the saddle before climbing on behind her.
"Think you can get on yourself this time?" you hear your uncle question. You turned in his direction and nodded. You had ridden many times before but had just gotten the hang of mounting a horse yourself. You walked over to the saddle, gripping it in your hands. You placed your right foot in the stirrup and managed to swing yourself over with ease.
"Good job (Y/N)" Frollo said as he mounted behind you. Once everyone was mounted and secure, your aunt and uncle nudged the horsed into a trot. It would be some time before you reached the pond. Not long, but just long enough for your aunt and uncle to somehow sneak a lesson in. usually something related to nature, whether that be an animal they passed or a plant that was growing. It did help the time go by as you reach the pond in what felt like no time.
Once there, Gothel and Frollo helped you dismount the horse. They let you and Eliza explore a little bit as they got the picnic set up. You and Eliza took this opportunity to race over to the pond. The pond itself was small, a stream of water fed into it. Surrounding it were weeds and flowers that were scattered around a large patch of grass surrounding the pond, which was surrounded by tall, dark oak trees.
