The warmth of the fireplace crackled softly in the background as you glanced around the living room, already filled with the festive cheer of Christmas. The scent of pine filled the air, mingling with the aroma of cinnamon-scented candles that burned gently on the mantle. Soft Christmas music hummed in the background, setting the perfect mood for the evening. Yet, despite the beautiful ambience, your heart pounded with anticipation-this wasn't just any Christmas. It was the first Christmas you'd be spending with Dick Grayson.

You couldn't help but smile as you watched Dick bring in another box of decorations, his dark hair tousled from the cold wind outside. His eyes sparkled with that familiar playfulness, the kind that had drawn you to him from the very beginning. Though he was a hero-Nightwing, a protector of Gotham and Blüdhaven-right now, he was just Dick, the man who made your heart flutter every time he smiled.

"Alright," he said with a grin, setting the box down on the coffee table. "I think this is the last of it. You ready to deck the halls?"

You chuckled, rolling your eyes at his enthusiasm. "You mean, you're ready to deck the halls while I supervise, right?"

Dick shot you a mock-offended look. "Oh, come on. You have to help! What kind of Christmas elf are you?"

"An adorable one," you quipped, grabbing a strand of twinkling lights from the box. "But, fine. I'll help. But only because I want to see what kind of creative chaos we can get into together."

He laughed, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "That's the spirit! Let's turn this place into a winter wonderland."

The two of you spent the next hour untangling lights, hanging ornaments, and carefully placing garlands around the room. Laughter filled the air as you struggled with a particularly stubborn strand of lights that seemed determined to twist itself into knots.

"You'd think I'd be good at untangling things, given my line of work," Dick joked as he finally managed to unravel the mess. "But nope, Christmas lights are my kryptonite."

You giggled, tossing a strand of tinsel at him playfully. "That's okay. You're still a hero in my book."

He caught the tinsel with ease, his smile softening as he looked at you. "And you're my favourite partner in crime... or, well, partner in Christmas decorating."

Your heart warmed at his words, and for a moment, you forgot about the decorations entirely. There was something so magical about this moment-about sharing it with him. You could see the love in his eyes, the way he looked at you like you were the most important person in the world. And you knew, in that moment, that this Christmas would be one you'd never forget.

As the evening wore on, the room slowly transformed into a festive paradise. The tree stood proudly in the corner, adorned with shimmering ornaments and twinkling lights. The mantle was decorated with evergreen garlands, stockings, and candles. Even the windows had been adorned with snowflake decals, giving the impression that a gentle snow had fallen outside.

You stood back to admire your handiwork, wiping a bit of glitter off your hands. "I think we did a pretty good job, don't you?"

Dick nodded, wrapping an arm around your shoulders and pulling you close. "It looks amazing. But you know what's missing?"

You raised an eyebrow. "What?"

He grinned, holding up a small bundle of mistletoe that he'd been hiding behind his back. "This."

Your breath caught in your throat as you looked at the mistletoe, and then back at him. He was watching you with that familiar mischievous glint in his eyes, but there was something deeper there too-something tender and sweet that made your heart skip a beat.

"Dick..." you began, but he cut you off by gently placing the mistletoe above your heads, holding it there with one hand.

"Mistletoe rules, Y/N," he said softly, his voice barely above a whisper. "You know what that means."

You could feel the heat rising to your cheeks as you looked into his eyes, those deep blue eyes that had always made you feel safe and cherished. The world seemed to slow down, the only sound the crackling of the fire and the soft melody of a Christmas carol playing in the background. Time stood still as you and Dick stood under that mistletoe, the rest of the world fading away until it was just the two of you.

And then, slowly, he leaned in.

His lips brushed against yours, soft and warm, and you felt a shiver of excitement run through you. It was a gentle kiss at first, tentative and sweet, but as you leaned into him, it deepened, becoming more passionate. His hand slipped to the small of your back, pulling you closer as your arms wrapped around his neck. The kiss was everything you'd ever imagined it would be-sweet, tender, and full of love.

When you finally pulled away, both of you were breathless, your foreheads resting against each other. The room felt even warmer now, the firelight casting a soft glow around you both.

"Merry Christmas, Y/N," Dick whispered, his voice filled with emotion.

"Merry Christmas, Dick," you whispered back, your heart overflowing with love and happiness.

The two of you stayed like that for a moment, savoring the closeness, the connection that you shared. It was more than just a kiss-it was a promise, a commitment to each other. A reminder that no matter what challenges you faced, you'd always have each other.

Eventually, Dick pulled back slightly, his fingers brushing a strand of hair away from your face. "I think that might be my favorite Christmas tradition," he said with a grin.

You laughed softly, nodding in agreement. "I think it's mine too."

The rest of the evening was spent curled up together on the couch, sipping hot cocoa and watching Christmas movies. Every now and then, one of you would glance at the mistletoe still hanging above, and you'd share a knowing smile-a silent acknowledgment of the love that had grown between you.

As the night drew to a close and the fire burned low, you found yourself dozing off in Dick's arms, feeling more content than you ever had before. This Christmas, you realized, wasn't just about the decorations or the gifts-it was about the love and joy you shared with the people who mattered most. And as you drifted off to sleep, you knew that with Dick by your side, every Christmas would be just as magical as this one.
