Malang stood in front of the mirror, his reflection staring back, a mixture of excitement and dread etched on his face. Netra, ever the optimist, was busy doing her makeup, her cheerful chatter filling the room.

“Relax, Malang,” she said, spraying herself with perfume. “It’s just college. We’ll figure it out.”

Malang managed a weak smile. “I know, but what if…”

“No buts,” Netra interrupted, giving him a stern look. “You’re going to ace it. I know you will.”

With a deep breath, Malang nodded, trying to convince himself of Netra's words. They stepped out of the apartment, the morning sun casting long shadows.

The college campus was a sprawling expanse of green lawns, modern buildings, and a vibrant energy that was palpable.
