Everything was going well for some time in the Estierelli estate.
Laurent hasn't seen Orion after the party which was good, and his brother left him to his own devices which was even better. Though he often thinks about the strange behaviors Emperor Ephraim and Grand Duke Valentino showed back then, but if he thought about those two then Laurent couldn't help but think about Orion as well.
All three of them were causing him migraines that just couldn't seem to go away.
Still, his time in the estate was peaceful and nothing else happened that seemed to go against anyone's character which is a great thing in his book.
He spent the majority of his time wandering around the renovating gardens, going through every area and forcing the workers to clean up whatever was there. Even if that meant unearthing plots and moving away statues that might've been in the family gardens for decades.
But Laurent didn't care. Which meant Seamus didn't care either, which also meant the servants shouldn't and would just have to continue doing whatever tasks Laurent prattled on about for them to do.
Soon enough, these gardens would be empty. And then the real work will have to begin.
Still... Laurent doesn't have a clear image of what he envisions. Because he really doesn't understand what he's dong.
For a small hobby, he thinks he's turned it into something big which is a bit of concern.
The system thinks otherwise.
It flits around from time to time, hovering over small areas with messages of its own, telling Laurent that it would be good to plant flowers right there when the time comes. Laurent only scoffs in return and tells it off, yet the system stays and continues telling him to do what it wanted.
As if.
Laurent hardly listened to its requests, but perhaps when he gets tired of the system nagging at him, he might give in. For now, he lets it do whatever it wants while trying to strike up a conversation or two about the situation.
When he tells it about the time from the ball and how weird the BOSS villains and male lead were acting, the system was silent for some time. Simply processing what he said.
But then it tells him not to worry. The system said that it's more important for Laurent to do what was required of him in the first place, and to try and ignore them if he could help it.
Again, his system was useless. It barely gave him any advice on what to do, and even if he tried to complain that it should be more helpful, the system turned into a bright red color and goes silent.
Whatever. It's not like he isn't used to it.
At least it told him that if something else happened, Laurent would be able to let it know.
It's just that... Laurent didn't know it would need the system so fast after their last conversation.
Right now, he and Seamus were standing together at the top of the stairs, glowering at the stacks of presents being carried into the household. The brother shared a look, sharing the same sentiment.
"So, you say... these are all gifts from the emperor, huh? Are you sure they're not for you, my lord?"
"If they were, I would've sent them back if I could. But because it's from the emperor, I can't... and they were sent to you, Laurent."
Laurent grimaces. "But this is so sudden..."
Seamus and him once again shared a look of utter confusion as more gifts were piling up at the bottom of the stairs. Miss Belinda stopped in the middle of the room, looking up at the masters of the estate while lifting up a large gift box.
