“Father, the Muller family arrived,” Sharon, who is wearing a sparkling red gown, told David, who is currently fixing his tie, facing the glass wall of the manor's gigantic living room.
“Alright, go entertain them; I'll follow soon,” David said.
“Father, why don't you go and face them? I thought you wanted to push through with the wedding. Isn’t it more appropriate for you to be there? ”
Sharon asked.
“I'm waiting for your brother.”
Sharon was surprised; she clearly witnessed how her father disowned her brother Steven during the wedding earlier that day. However, she could only hide her disappointment and contempt. It may seem to the outside world that she’s a daddy’s girl, but that’s nothing but a facade. David is actually controlling her every move.
Sharon was also deemed worthless and incompetent by her own father. But because of her young and exquisite figure, David often uses her to arrange business deals.
Steven, on the other hand, is talented and smart, giving him a free pass to value his free will. He is an asset for David, which makes him favored, while Sharon is nothing but a liability.
That’s why, when David disowned Steven, Sharon was overjoyed, especially since the company would be hers alone, but all her hopes seem lost when David is still waiting for Steven. While engrossed in a deep thought, Sharon heard a commotion outside.
“What’s going on? ”David also asked upon hearing noises coming from the front gate. Suddenly, the door to the living room opened, and a servant entered with a nervous and apologetic face.
“Sir, ma'am, please excuse me for the intrusion, but...”
“What's going on outside? ”Sharon didn't even let the maid finish her sentence.
“Ma'am, the police and reporters are here,” the maid announced.
