PART 06

BOLD

Ryou would definitely be lying if he said that he wasn't feeling excited, because he definitely was. He and Ojiro did their best to construct a plan with their somewhat limited knowledge of their classmates.

The plan went as follows:

Ryou, who had already gone and chugged a few water bottles, would generate a large cloud of mist to conceal both himself and Ojiro, along with the massive faux-weapon. That way, they had the element of surprise on their side.

In the mist, it would be hard for Shoji's tentacles to see their positions inside, but he still would be able to hear everything. However, it wasn't Shoji that Ryou was worried about.

Ryou lightly bit the inside of his cheek, deep in thought as the image of Todoroki generating a large iceberg during the quirk assessment test popped into his head.

"What're we going to do about Todoroki's quirk?" Ojiro asked, voicing Ryou's concerns.

Ryou glanced over, somewhat buried in his thoughts, before mumbling out, "Honestly, I'm not too sure," He said lowly, rolling a few ideas around in his head, before shaking his head in minor frustration, "Yeah, I'm not sure. He'd be able to get rid of my mist pretty easily."

Ojiro hummed in response, placing a hand on his chin as he thought to himself as well. There were three minutes left on the clock, and they hardly had any counters for Todoroki's ice.

"Oh! What were you doing with your quirk yesterday for the assessment tests?" Ojiro asked, snapping his fingers as an idea entered his mind.

Ryou tilted his head in slight confusion, "I was just making steam to-" He began, but it seems that this is the same conclusion that Ojiro had come to, because his enlightened expression mirrored Ryou's.

"Do you think that'd be able to help us?" Ojiro asked, glancing over to the clock, which was ticking down from 10 seconds.

Ryou shrugged, but shifted slightly to face the door, "Not sure, if I'm being honest, but all we can do is hope that it does," He answered, mist pouring out of his mouth at the fastest speed that he could manage.

As the timer beeped, marking the end of the planning period, Ryou glanced at Ojiro, who had tucked himself behind one of the pillars, enshrouded in mist as well as the faux-weapon.

A faint, crackling sound was heard behind the door, causing Ryou's brows to furrow in confusion. The crackling was getting louder and seemed to be rapidly moving towards the room, which alerted Ryou even more.

what is that noise? Ryou thought to himself, before he quickly realized that between Shoji and Todoroki, it was most likely the latter.

Quickly, Ryou stopped creating mist, instead making hot steam come out of his mouth instead.

"What're you doing?" Ojiro whispered, his voice hushed and confused.

"Todoroki's using his ice," Ryou explained briefly, waving his arms around in a circular motion, creating a circular zone of hot steam in the middle of the room, "At least, I think he is... I hope this will work. Keep the weapon where it is, but this area is for us to stay in, so get over here."

By only concentrating the steam in a designated area, opposed to how he was letting the mist flow wherever it chose to, Ryou was able to keep the cool mist from dissipating and evaporating away while also having a warm zone in the room.

Ojiro obeyed Ryou's instructions, standing with him in the steam, occasionally reaching up to pat away any sweat that was beading at his forehead.

Ryou wasn't sure how Todoroki was planning on using his ice, but he hoped that whatever he's doing right now would help them in a fight.
