PART 11
BURST
At this point, the clock was ticking and Ryou was still unsure of who he was going to team up with. He felt a bit hesitant to team up with Midoriya due to the overwhelmingly large target on his back, but if he didn't team up with him, then he'd have no one.
Ryou sighed heavily, crossing his arms in contemplation, before deciding to wait things out to see if anyone else wanted to partner up with him. He highly doubted it, but he waited to see anyway.
He watched as Midoriya and Uraraka both approached Iida, before averting his gaze to scout out the other teams. As he expected, everyone was sticking with their homerooms... except for Ojiro and Aoyama?
Ryou's brows furrowed in slight confusion, spotting the two blonds next to the purple haired gen ed kid who had declared war on them the other day. He didn't expect that match up, but he figured that they were desperate.
He noticed that Bakugo had also gathered his team, which consisted of Kirishima, Mina, and Sero. Ryou was surprised at the lack of Kaminari, realizing that the electric-blond had opted to team up with Todoroki along with Yaoyorozu, and... Iida?
wait- what? Ryou thought, quickly looking back to Midoriya and Uraraka, who both looked troubled.
Upon making eye contact with Midoriya, the boy hesitantly began to walk over with Uraraka in tow.
"R-Ryou... I-I know you might not want to team up, but- I think we could really use your help..." Midoriya stammered, looking a bit discouraged.
Ryou looked down at Midoriya, whose gaze was turned to the ground, before a small smile found its way onto his face. How could Ryou be so silly? It should've been a no-brainer from the start. Beside Midoriya, Uraraka also looked a bit saddened by the fact that Iida refused to join their team.
"Of course," Ryou said in reassurance, which resulted in Midoriya's eyes turning into literal geysers.
Ryou pursed his lips tightly as the boy cried in the most comical way he has ever seen anyone cry, wiping his face off when Midoriya was done, "Wow." Was all that Ryou could simply say, looking down at the ground where there was evidence that... something happened.
"Yeah, Deku did that earlier too," Uraraka said with a small laugh, turning a bit to look at the old spot that she and Midoriya came from. There was a drying puddle of what Ryou assumed were tears.
Midoriya sighed heavily, apparently having been tuning both Ryou and Uraraka out. Judging from the way his eyes were still scanning the crowd of people, Ryou guessed that he was trying to figure out who their fourth person was.
Suddenly, his face lit up with determination before he bravely made his way towards Tokoyami, who didn't appear to have a team yet despite there only being a few minutes left.
To everyone's delight, Tokoyami agreed to join them, and with that, the team was finalized. Together, their points totalled up to 10,000,475.
Midoriya spared Tokoyami his tears, motioning for everyone to huddle up to listen to his strategy.
"Okay, so originally I was hoping that Iida would join our team so that Tokoyami could be the rider, but I think that since Iida isn't our team, it'd be better for Tokoyami to be one of the horses with me being the rider. Uraraka and Ryou, you both will be the other two horses. Uraraka can make all of us weightless. Ryou, you can use your quirk to launch us into the air when we're all affected by Uraraka's quirk. Also, when we're being pursued, you'll need to use your quirk to at least cover me so they have trouble stealing my headband."
