A night to remember

Monday morning arrived with a sense of excitement lingering in the air. It had been three days since Zac's interview on Jimmy Kimmel, where he publicly declared his love for me and hinted at a future proposal. That confession was still fresh in my mind as I got up, ate breakfast, and prepared for the day ahead. The idea of what he said filled me with warmth, but I tried to focus on work as I headed to the office.

When I arrived, Ana, my personal assistant—whom I had dreamed of having in my future business—greeted me with a bright smile. "Good morning! You have a special delivery waiting on your desk," she said, her eyes twinkling.

Curiosity piqued, I walked to my desk and gasped. Sitting there was a large bouquet of roses, vibrant and fragrant, along with a beautifully wrapped box of chocolates. My heart skipped a beat as I spotted a note nestled within the bouquet. I picked it up and read it:

"To the most beautiful lady on the planet who happens to be my wonderful girlfriend,
Your gorgeous boyfriend,
Zac."

A wave of emotion washed over me

A wave of emotion washed over me. It was such a romantic gesture, and it made me miss him even more. I grabbed my phone and sent Zac a quick message thanking him for the sweet gifts. Moments later, he replied:

"It's only natural, I miss you too."

At lunchtime, Carmen called me, sounding bubbly as ever. "Hey, how's everything going with Zac?" she asked, her tone full of curiosity.

I couldn't help but smile as I responded, "Things are going really well. He actually sent me flowers and chocolates to my office today. It was such a sweet gesture."

"Wow, look at him being all romantic!" Carmen teased. "We have to celebrate this new chapter in your life. How about we go out tonight, like old times?"

I laughed, her enthusiasm contagious. "That sounds great! I could use a night out to celebrate."

After we confirmed our dinner plans, Carmen and I hung up, leaving me with a warm feeling. I couldn't wait for the evening.

Meanwhile, across the Atlantic, Zac was making a call of his own. Nervously, he dialed his mother's number. When she picked up, he took a deep breath before speaking. "Mom, I've decided I'm going to propose to her," he said, his voice a mix of excitement and nerves.

"Oh, Zac, that's wonderful!" His mother's voice was full of warmth and encouragement. "Are you using Grandma's ring?"

"Yes, I am," Zac replied softly. "She gave it to me before she passed, and I've been waiting for the right person. But... what if she says no, Mom? What if I'm moving too fast?"

His mother's voice was gentle as she reassured him, "Zac, you've told me how much she loves you. There's no reason for her to say no. Trust your heart. You've found something special."

Her words gave Zac the confidence he needed. After the call, he was ready to take the next step, knowing that no matter what happened, he was following his heart.

Once work ended, I returned to my apartment, only to find a package waiting for me at the front door. Attached was a note from Carmen:

"Wear this tonight. I saw it and immediately thought of you."

Intrigued, I carried the package inside and opened it in my room. Inside was a stunning white dress, elegant and timeless. Carmen had impeccable taste. Excitement bubbled inside me as I took a quick shower, then slipped into the dress. I paired it with silver high heels and styled my hair in a sleek ponytail. For makeup, I opted for something light and fresh, with a pop of red lipstick to complete the look.

Just as I finished getting ready, the doorbell rang. A man stood outside, dressed professionally. "I'm here to take you to the restaurant," he said politely.

Surprised but intrigued, I grabbed my purse and keys and followed him. He drove me through the beautiful streets of Paris until we arrived at the base of the Eiffel Tower. My heart raced as a woman approached and guided me to the elevator that would take me to the top. Confusion mixed with excitement—why was Carmen going to such lengths for a simple dinner?

When the elevator doors opened, I was greeted by a breathtaking sight. Rose petals were scattered across the floor, leading me toward a candlelit dinner set up at the edge of the tower. And there, standing by the table with a radiant smile, was Zac.

My breath caught in my throat as I walked toward him, my heart pounding in my chest. When I reached him, he pulled me into a gentle kiss, one that made me feel like I was floating. When we pulled away, he looked deep into my eyes, his expression filled with love and sincerity.

"I couldn't wait any longer," Zac began, his voice soft and full of emotion. "From the moment we met, I knew there was something special about you. These past few days apart have only confirmed what I've known all along—I can't imagine my life without you. I don't want to waste another moment."

And with that, Zac dropped to one knee, pulling out a small, velvet box. My heart raced as he opened it, revealing a dazzling ring that sparkled in the candlelight.

"Will you make me the happiest man in the world" Zac asked, his voice slightly trembling with anticipation. "And marry me?"

Tears welled up in my eyes as I smiled and nodded, overwhelmed with joy. "Yes," I whispered, my voice full of emotion. "Yes, a thousand times yes."

Zac stood up, slipping the ring onto my finger. It fit perfectly, just like our love. Then, without hesitation, he pulled me into his arms and kissed me deeply, passionately, as if sealing a promise of a lifetime together.

As we stood there, wrapped in each other's embrace, high above the City of Love, I knew that this moment was just the beginning of our forever.
