Coming to terms with the fact he was definitely still in love with Kaveh was something Alhaitham had to do with haste, as Kaveh's lips were already back on his.
He breaks the kiss shortly to press his lips down Kaveh's neck, relishing in the blank canvas of smooth skin. Kaveh's fingers sifted through his hair, "Something feels different." He commented.
Alhaitham paused, "It does?"
"Mm." Kaveh mumbled, a sound Alhaitham had become incredibly familiar with, "You're being all slow and gentle."
"Barely even started, Kaveh." Alhaitham bit his neck, earning a gasp in response.
Kaveh swatted him slightly, "No marks on the neck!" He reminded, the other having definitely forgotten in the spur of the moment, "If that's visible by Monday I'll beat you up."
Alhaitham chuckled, pulling back, "Like you could." He bit his lip as he looked at Kaveh's eyes, before his vision glanced down to his mouth, if he told his younger self about his life so far, the young man would certainly collapse.
Kaveh stared back with equal interest, "You're not that strong."
He was met with a rare Alhaitham laugh, "What, you wanna fight me?"
"I wouldn't be opposed..." Kaveh murmured.
"Just don't cry when you lose."
And just like that, Kaveh was pouncing forward, trying to push the other down just for some hands on his shoulders to prevent him of doing so. Instead, Kaveh was now the one on his back, Alhaitham looming above him with a cocky smile.
"I win."
Kaveh had practically had his world flipped, he let out a breath that had built up in his lungs during the fast landing onto his back, "Not fair! That lasted like, two seconds."
"Doesn't that say something?"
Kaveh groaned, covering his face with his palms, "If you're trying to get me to admit to my wrongs, no chance. Not that I have any..."
Alhaitham's smile hadn't let for their entire conversation, morphing more into a grin as he grasped Kaveh's wrists to pull them away from his face, "Let me see you."
The blonde reluctantly let himself be revealed after a moment of non-forceful tugging, a pensive look on his face before he was closing his eyes to welcome a kiss. They held each other, gently caressing and fondling one another.
It made Alhaitham spiral again, focusing on the line between friends and lovers, but he wasn't sure which elements belonged to what. It was a topic that was simply too confrontational, aaand Alhaitham was forgetting how to kiss the more he thought about it.
Kaveh broke the kiss, his thumb rubbing on the others cheek, "You're all stiff, what's up?"
Alhaitham's eyes opened, looking at Kaveh's which held... Emotion. It was unreadable, Alhaitham didn't like it, he didn't like how Kaveh was looking at him as if he was his everything. "Don't look at me like that..." He muttered, his head against Kaveh's chest as they relaxed into a more cuddly position.
Kaveh held him. He fucking held Alhaitham. It wasn't helping Alhaitham's dizzy, cloudy thoughts. "Like what?" He asked after a moment.
"Like I mean something to you." Alhaitham's voice held a hint of vulnerability.
There was a pause, one so long that Alhaitham was fully convinced he had screwed everything up, except for real this time. Kaveh ignored any warning signs, speaking up: "You do mean something to me," And then panic hit him, "We're friends, right?"
