Estella's POV

Jacob and I rush into a room as the creatures barrel into the wooden door. My eyes widen as it sounds like the wood is quickly breaking from their claws. I struggle to push a table in front of the door to give us more time. I open a door to the right but it's a closet. I open another one seeing a bathroom that leads to nowhere.

"We are fucked," I whisper as Jacon looks around. When I start to panic Jacob yells my name and slides a window open. There is at least a twenty-foot drop, "If one of us gets hurt jumping down we are screwed," I point out as he turns his head seeing a small beam that we could step on to climb onto the roof.

"I'll go first to help you get across," He tells me as the door shakes and the creature growls making my blood run cold. I help him out of the window and watch him as he slowly shimmies across the ledge and climbs up, "Focus. You can do this," he says as I keep turning back terrified I won't move quick enough. I climb out of the window, looking at the hard ground beneath us. Jacob grabs my hand and helps me balance as I hear a loud crash inside the room. He pulls me up just as the creature makes it to the window. We slowly walk towards a peak in the roof and hide knowing we don't have enough time to run. Jacob brings his hand up covering my mouth as tears run down my cheeks.

I can see him looking around for somewhere to run if we have to, "I'll be right back," he whispers in my ear as I turn my head. I look at him like he's crazy and he puts his hands out telling me to calm down. I shake my head but he's already moving away down the roof. I peek behind me, not seeing the monster, and sink back down. That could be Abi and we would have no idea. Jacob stealthily walks back and motions for me to come over. I peek back and see the coast is clear. He brings me to a window on the top floor and we crawl in closing it behind us. There is a noise behind the door and I cower back as he steps in front of me.

"Kaitlyn," Dylan whispers scolding her as they open the door. When they see us the two of them run over and hug us. All of our hearts beat out of our chests, "Where is everyone?" he whispers.

"Kaci turned...we locked her into the cellar," I whisper seeing Jacob's face fall, "Nick was bitten when we were crawling up and we left him in Chris's office," I quickly inform them. I look around, "Where is Emma?"

"She ran off...she's somewhere in the lodge. Ryan is still with Laura at the house," Dylan rambles as we hear footsteps above us. We all stare at the ceiling before looking at each other, "We can't just sit around here all night," he whispers.

"We should get out of here and try to find them," Kaitlyn says as we all disagree.

"One of those things are out there," I point out.

"We just have to come up with a plan," Jacob says as something breaks downstairs.

"Another one?" Dylan asks looking exhausted.

"Emma is missing, Abi and Kaci have turned, and Nick is not far behind. The only weapon we have is in Kailtyn's hand. One of those things is above us and it could be Abi or Chris's family, and all of our lives are in the hands of Ryan and Laura," I list out feeling helpless. They all look at me as I lift my head again, "We have to face the facts. Are we prepared to shoot not knowing who the person behind the creature is?" I question.

Dylan steps back placing the gun down as Jacob picks it up, "Abi wouldn't want us to spare her if it meant one of us dying," he reasons, "Let's just make sure we won't have to make that choice," he states.
