my life is a rollercoaster, highs and lows, yet the highs seem distant, the downwards flow. each day a pendulum, swinging wide, but the "up" feels empty, a temporary tide.
i reach for the stars but grasp only air, in a cycle of moments, cruel and unfair. the peaks are shadows, mysterious and faint, while the valleys are deep, where dreams often paint.
i climb toward the sky with weary feet, yet the summit is distant, a mirage i meet. the downs pull me under, a relentless tide, while the up is a whisper, where hopes reside.
each crest a promise that never quite stays, each trough a certainty in life's winding maze. i'm caught in this motion, a ceaseless ride, where the "up" is a phantom, no comfort to find.
