in school's bustling, crowded throng,
i saw her move, where i belong,
her eyes sought mine with a clear intent,
a silent plea, a message sent.yet others stood, their voices loud,
their presence strong, a daunting crowd,
she tried to push through, break the line,
to reach me there, where hearts align.but fear gripped me, my steps were slow,
a panic surge i couldn't stow,
and though she reached with earnest plea,
i turned away, a cowardly plea.i fled from chance, so clumsy, stark,
unknowing of the spark she'd sparked,
her words unsaid, her touch unseen,
in my retreat, i felt so mean.
