Y/ns POV:
"I love you, remember that" five said to me as we walked out of where hotel obsidian used to be, "I love you too" I replied, we kissed on the lips before going our separate ways.
I know that we probably should've stayed together but after everything that happened, we'd probably just end up arguing every day, I know i'll miss him but we'll still see eachother every now and then...right?.
6 YEARS LATER
I stumbled down the street drunk, I laughed to myself as I saw my reflection in a glass window, my nose was pink, and my eyelids were droopy.
I stretched and decided to get the train (subway?) home, I walked for what seemed like years until I got to the station.
I stumbled down the stairs and there was a homeless man sitting down singing, I began waiting for the train and got my phone out to text my current boyfriend for the 10th time since he wasn't replying to my messages, I had texted telling him that I'm drunk and needed a ride home but the stupid pricks ignoring me.
there wasn't many people in the station, infact, it was only me, the homeless guy and a man who looks about in his 20's, he was wearing a suit, and he had a creepy mustache, he looks greek and he also looked very familiar but I just couldn't put my mind to it.
I checked my phone again and it started falling out my hands, I tried to keep hold of it and leaned forward, that's resulted in me falling into the tracks.
I breathed heavy and looked around, suddenly the man from earlier ran over, "hey hey hey! you alright? can you stand up?" he asked.
"just stay still, half that shit can electrocute you down there, just give me your hand" he held his hand out.
the homeless man kept singing, he wouldn't shut up "pick it up! pick it up!" he kept repeating, it was going through my head.
the man who was talking to me suddenly turned to the homeless singing man "sir, can you shut up?!" he then turned to me again "give me your hand".
I looked ahead and saw a bright light "the trains coming...". I turned to the guy again who seemed to be getting impatient.
"your hand, now" he said and I grabbed my phone and his hand and he pulled me up just before the train hit me.
I landed ontop of him as we stared into each others eyes, I swear I know him...before I could remember I felt a feeling in my gut.
I faced away and threw up, nearly hitting the man I was on top of. I winced at the soreness in my throat before moving off him.
he helped me up and brought me out of the station. "you alright?" he asked and I nodded, I went into a nearby store and bought myself a bottle of water.
as soon as we came back out I downed it, I threw the empty bottle in the bin and sighed as my headache began going.
"let's get you in a cab, alright" the man held his arm out and stepped onto the curb. "I'm not always like this" I spoke as I moved my hair out of my face.
"y-yeah I figured you had...some kind of night" he looked at my drunken state. "some kind" I chuckled to myself and zipped my jacket up since It was getting cold.
I looked at the man closer and began to mention what I had been thinking ever since I saw him "hey, I don't wanna sound like a stalker but...I think I know you..."
he shrugged, "well, who do I remind you off?" "I don't know...it's as if the names right infront of me but I just can't think...maybe it's because I'm drunk."
The man nodded and a cab pulled up next to us, he opened the door for me "where you headed?" he asked "village...are you anywhere close?" I asked.
he nodded "ride with me, it's the least I could do" I said, he shrugged "okay". I smiled and we both got into the car.
the way was silent, until I asked "did you move here to be something?" I asked, he turned to me "i've lived here my whole life" I nodded and rested my head against my arm. "me too, but I tried something and it's not working out and I'm just running around eighteen hours a day like why?" I asked myself the last part.
I looked up at him and he looked abit shocked "never mind, sorry" "don't be, I feel the same way some times" he said.
"I did a lot for my family, I sacrificed everything for them and when the problem was finally solved...they just left, no thank you or anything" he looked at his feet.
I felt sorry for him, but before I could say anything to comfort him he spoke again, "and I lost the woman I love...I should've told her how I truly felt, not just an "I love you" there always has to be more too it...".
"is she?..." I didn't wanna continue the sentence but he knew what I meant "she's alive, we just don't talk anymore, we thought that if we stayed together then we would argue all day every day and we'd end up hating each other so we just decided to stay in contact as friends, but we didn't stay in contact. it's been 6 years" he sighed.
"something big happened to me and my family 6 years ago too...and the man I love...I never saw him again... looks like we have a similar story huh?" I chuckled.
"too similar" I thought to myself, I looked back up at him and he was looking out the window, I know him, I know I do. for fuck sake why did I have to get drunk?.
"do I look familiar to you at all?" I asked, he looked at me again, "not at all" he said casually as if he gets asked this every day, "are you sure? you look so familiar, I swear I know you...".
"well, when you find out who you think I am, call me" he handed me a piece of paper that had a number written on it.
I looked at him and laughed "very smooth" I wiped the hair out of my face, it was starting to get really annoying. "what's your name?" I asked, "Jerome to the ladies" he winked and kissed my hand. I laughed "i'm y/n" he nodded.
I wiped the hair out of my face once more and let out a frustrated sigh "here, use this" he handed me a hair tie and I took it gratefully.
"thanks" I smiled and tied my hair up. "and we're here" the taxi man said. I sat up and looked out the window to see my apartment.
"this is me" I sighed, before I got out, I turned to Jerome, "thank you for sobering me up...and for saving my life".
"I saw someone who needed help and I helped them, what can I say?" he smirked, we both stopped talking and started moving closer.
that was until someone began knocking on the window, I looked out and saw my boyfriend, I sighed and rolled down the window.
"hi...uhm this is Jerome, he literally saved my life tonight, I fell on the tracks it was crazy" I looked into my boyfriend brady's eyes.
"babe I told you, people are basically good" he turned to Jerome who sat behind me "it a great job bro" Jerome gave him a sarcastic smile but brady didn't notice.
"okay, y/n, it's freezing out here" he scoffed and I started to get out of the car "thanks again" I smiled and gave him a kiss on the cheek without Brady seeing.
I got out of the car and waved as they drove off. who is that guy? I wondered.
