Failed Negotiation

Whenever I look at the shrine in our village, I am always curious: Why did they establish a Shinto shrine in our village? Who established said shrine? And what are the purposes of the shrine in question? Till this day, it still cannot be answered. "But those 'SCP Foundation' personnel... I feel like they definitely came here for a reason." I whispered to myself, confirming my answer to the long existing question in my mind. "Whether they came here to uncover the mist inside the mountains, or solely came here for any emergencies, there has to be an untold reason for some specifically trained soldiers to enter a nameless village like ours."

I focused on the document I retrieved from the SCP personnel who came to warn us with all of those serious injuries. The document was no different from any others - white paper with black ink. Except for the header on top of the document: "SCP Foundation - Secure, Contain, Protect." And, at the same time, many texts that were marked in pitch black in order to hide some information. I have to admit, throughout my life-time, I have never heard of an organization such as the "SCP Foundation." I do not know its purpose; I do not know where it is located; I do not know if it even exists!

On the other hand, from the same waterproofed folder, I found a letter, hand written, unlike most of the letters I would receive in my mailbox. It also had no strange properties, just a normal letter with the names of the receiver, the sender, and the content. I am not sure if I should peek at someone's letter, as it is their personal belonging. However, this time, curiosity controlled me instead of my will. Not only because I want to know everything about this foundation thing, but also the miseries behind that wounded man and possibly everything surrounding the village. With that settled in my mind, I opened the letter that was marked as "TOP SECRET."

Greetings, fellow MTF-Alpha-[Redacted] members.

Recently, the foundation has recorded unusual readings near the border of SCP-[Redacted]-A. The approximate location of the readings will be your destination of this mission. Assistance from MTF-Beta-[Redacted] will be ready by your arrival.

The readings we received are much stronger compared to any other containment breaches we have ever defended ever since the discovery of SCP-[Redacted]-A, hence the permission of experimental weapons in this mission. No captures will be required in this mission with the exception of undiscovered species from SCP-[Redacted]-A, thus elimination of any recorded SCP-[Redacted]-A species will be your priority to stop the potential containment breach. You are asked to give up everything you have in the scenario where you must to insure the safety of the surrounding population.

The recommended strategy for this mission is to surround any incoming dangers, instead of pushing into a crowd of entities. This strategy has been proven to be the best solution with the requirements stated above when dealing with the unknown dangers approaching from SCP-[Redacted]-A.

Level-3 Senior Researcher

Professor ██████ ███████

...

To think of someone's name which was blocked out with black boxes, probably some classified information that even the MTF people do not have access to: a senior researcher who still held their title as a professor... How odd. I thought, thinking whether this person is more of an ignorant one or just a stubborn one. Regardless of this professor, I have to read what is left from the same folder, and surprisingly, we got another document marked as "TOP SECRET".
