"hey youre here!" shayla said, walking up to belly and kaia "i saved you guys a spot"

kaia smiled and shayla led the two of them over to two open desks for the girls, right next to nicole

it was pretty awkward, they haven't talked since nicole left the two girls at the dock completely stranded and naked, kaia didn't know what to say and it looked like belly didn't either

"nicole, i- im really sorry" belly said, kaia kept her head down, her gaze on the desk in front of her, she didnt know what to add to the conversation and it was probably best if she didn't, nicole was only upset because of the text from conrad

"about what? conrad?" nicole replied, her voice flat "i'm over it, i'm here with somebody else"

kaia looked up and met nicoles gaze, then immediately looked away, she didn't wanna be a part of this conversation

"can i just explain what happened?" belly asked

nicole sighed and shifted her body to face belly

"i've had a crush on conrad, for, like, my whole life and he's always just seen me as his little sister" belly said, she paused before continuing "and then i thought that this summer maybe he could like me back" she paused again "but the thing is, what he liked was that i liked him, you know, he never actually liked me"

kaia shook her head to herself, belly had gotten it so wrong. kaia knew that conrad had truly felt something for her, it pained her to see that belly didn't realize it

"and i'm sorry, i was stupid enough to think he ever could" belly added

nicole sighed, "it's not your fault conrads a fuckboy"

kaia's eyes widened at nicole's bluntness. she glanced at kaia, who quickly looked away, then back to belly. "but you're kinda a fuckgirl too"

kaia laughed quietly to herself at nicoles comment, she wasnt lying

"cam, conrad, now jeremiah. you're playing with a lot of hearts belly, two of those hearts including your best friends brothers" 

kaia turned to belly, she spoke again "okay, im sorry, maybe i was being a little fuckgirl-ish, but i swear to you nicole, i am completely over conrad, like so, so over him"

nicole lowered her eyebrows as if she didn't believe belly, "no one ever really gets over their first love"

kaia smiled to herself, nicole was right, never ever had she gotten over steven, even if she tried, and she knew belly would never fully get over conrad either, that's just how it was
