today was bellys birthday, and the whole house celebrated for her. the six of them were downstairs, getting everything ready for the celebration. kaia already turned 16 in december, she liked having a winter birthday, but she wished she had a summer birthday like belly's
kaia stood by steven, helping him with the pancakes, every year belly would have mickey mouse pancakes on her birthday and today, they needed to be perfect
"let me flip it" kaia said, grabbing the spatula out of stevens hand
"hey!" he protested, grinning, trying to get the spatula back
"this has to be perfect for belly, and knowing you, you'll mess it up" kaia teased
steven rolled his eyes, "alright fine, let's see you flip it then!"
kaia nodded confidently, "watch the master," she said, tilting the pan slightly and carefully sliding the spatula under the pancake, she lifted it and flipped it perfectly
"and that's how its done!" kaia declared, happy to prove herself right
"okay okay, whatever, you're the pancake flipping master!" steven admitted
"damn right i am" she said smiling
steven chuckled and they smiled at each other before belly came into the kitchen, "morning everyone!"
"heyy!!" the group greeted back
susannah went up first and hugged her, "theres the birthday girl, looking like a vision in floral, happy birthday!"
jeremiah went up next to hug her, "happy sweet sixteen bells!"
steven turned away from the stove, eating a piece of bacon, "belly buttons getting old now finally, happy birthday!"
"happy birthday bells! you look stunning, as always!" kaia complimented, turning to look at her from the stove
"thanks everyone!" she said with a wide smile
laurel went and gave her a hug, "your mickey mouse pancakes are ready"
"i made them for you this year!" kaia smiled at the girl
belly hesitated for a moment before responding, "actually, i'm not really, uh hungry"
"oh" laurel simply said
kaia quickly jumped in, looking towards belly, "it's okay! i can put them in the fridge for you to eat later if you want?"
belly nodded and returned kaia's smile before susannah spoke, "shall we open gifts?"
"oh! you're gonna love mine" jeremiah said
