Christopher Robin is real

The author of the original Winnie the Pooh stories was A. A. Milne.

Mr Milne had a son named Christopher Robin and the animal characters were all stuffed animals from his nursery.

On his first birthday, Christopher Robin was given a stuffed bear as a present.

It was originally named Edward Bear, but Mr Milne changed it to Winnie the Pooh after a trip to the zoo of all places.

While there, the Milne family saw a black bear that was named Winnipeg and a swan that Christopher Robin named Pooh.

So they combined the name and renamed Edward Bear Winnie the Pooh.

The stories started out as bedtime stories told to Christopher Robin, but soon Mr Milne published them in books like When We Were Very Young and Now We are Six

They were successes and you can see where it went from there.
