Chapter 4 : Rude
It was a trap.
Haruto massages his forehead, letting out a big sigh and closing his eyes shut.
Jihoon looked around the room and decided to break the silence. "So, whe-"
"Don't even start yet." Haruto scoffed, still eyes closed. "Why are you all inside my room?"
"I-"
"You said you'll send a package for me." Haruto cutted him off. "How is it that all of you are here?"
"Surprise" Asahi said in a monotone voice.
Haruto slowly opened his eyes, his gaze scanning the room, landing on each of his friends one by one.
A mixture of confusion and annoyance plastered his face.
His eyes lingered on the mischievous glint in Jihoon's eyes, confirming his suspicion that something was amiss.
"A surprise, huh?" Haruto muttered, his voice laced with sarcasm. "Really? This is a surprise?"
"Come on, Haruto," Hyunsuk chimed in, trying to lighten the mood. "We just want to help you out."
Haruto raised an eyebrow, skepticism evident in his expression. "Help me out with what?"
"With your... problem," Asahi hesitated, his cheeks flushing slightly.
Haruto's heart skipped a beat.Problem?
What problem?
His mind raced, trying to figure out what they could possibly be talking about.
"What problem?" Haruto repeated, his voice steady despite the turmoil inside him.
Hyunsuk smirked, leaning forward in his chair. "You know, the one with Jeongwoo."
Haruto's face turned a shade of crimson as he sputtered, "What are you talking about? There's no problem."
His friends exchanged amused glances.
"Oh, really?" Jihoon questioned, raising an eyebrow. "Then why do you always get jealous whenever Hana is around him?"
Haruto's eyes widened in shock.
How did they know about that? He had been careful to hide his feelings....
Right.
The video call.
"I'm not jealous," Haruto denied, his voice rising slightly.
"Sure, you're not," Hyunsuk said, a playful smirk on his lips. "But your face says otherwise."
Haruto groaned, covering his face with his hands.
He knew they were right. He was clearly in denial, and his friends were determined to help him face his feelings.
"Look, I don't know what you're talking about," Haruto insisted, his voice muffled by his hands.
"Oh, come on, Haruto," Asahi said gently. "We're your friends. We want to help you."
Haruto slowly lowered his hands, his gaze meeting his friends' concerned eyes.
He knew they meant well, but the thought of admitting his feelings for Jeongwoo made him feel exposed and vulnerable.
"Fine," Haruto said, defeated. "What do you want to do?"
A mischievous glint appeared in Jihoon's eyes. "First, we need to gather more information."
"And how will we do that?" Haruto asked. He was starting to feel a little overwhelmed by his friends' sudden interest in his love life.
Hyunsuk grinned, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "We're going to be your personal spies, of course!"
"Spies?" Haruto repeated, his eyebrows raised in disbelief.
"You're serious?"
"Totally," Asahi nodded, a rare serious expression on his face. "We're going to observe Jeongwoo's every move. We'll find out what he likes, what he doesn't like, and what his type is."
"And then what?" Haruto asked, feeling a mix of annoyance and curiosity.
"And then," Jihoon said, leaning forward, "we'll create the perfect plan to win Jeongwoo's heart."
Haruto's eyes widened. "You're crazy," he muttered, but a small part of him was intrigued by the idea.
"Just trust us, Haruto," Jihoon said, giving him a reassuring smile. "We know what we're doing."
"You saying that makes me want to not trust you more." Haruto replied.
He sighed, defeated. Haruto knew that arguing with his friends was pointless. Besides, a part of him was curious to see what his friends would come up with.
"Fine," he said, reluctantly. "But don't expect miracles."
Hyunsuk pumped his fist in the air. "We won't disappoint!"

"Do we really have to do this on this branch?" Haruto whispers while looking down, gulping at the height they're currently at.
Not wasting any time, they decided to start their plan right away by spying on Jeongwoo in their backyard as he reads a book in the warm afternoon.
Hyunsuk replied a 'Yes' whispering back as he continued to look into his binoculars.
"We could've just stayed on the first branch, we can still see them there." Haruto continued to argue.
Jihoon faced him. "We're doing this to make Jeongwoo fall for you so be grateful about it."
"Not if I fall from this branch first." Haruto replied, raising his voice a bit.
"Lower your voice down, Haru."Asahi muttered. At the same time, Jeongwoo looked around their backyard to find where the sound was coming from.
Their breath hitched when Jeongwoo looked up but luckily, the leaves were covering them.
"If we stayed on the first branch, he could've seen us and it's game over." Hyunsuk said to Haruto.
"Why are you even with us?" JIhoon asked, turning to him.
"I want to make sure that y'all ain't doing anything to embarrass me."
"You're just scared of heights," Jihoon teased, a smirk playing on his lips. Haruto glared at him, but his friends just laughed.
"Alright, alright, let's focus on the mission," Asahi said, trying to bring back the seriousness. "Jeongwoo is turning the page. Let's see what he's reading."
They all adjusted their positions, trying to get a better view of the book in Jeongwoo's hands.
"Love 101," Hyunsuk whispered, his eyes wide with surprise. "Who would've thought?"
"Isn't that book about relationships and whatnot?" Jihoon said. "Why would he read such?"
"Maybe he's trying to learn how to woo someone," Asahi suggested, a playful glint in his eyes.
"Or maybe he's just curious," Haruto countered, still a bit annoyed.
"Whatever it is," Jihoon said, leaning forward, "we need to make sure he sees us in the most romantic light possible."
"He's underlining something." Hyunsuk shushed them as he tried his best to see what it was.
Haruto raised an eyebrow at him. "Never knew you had eyesight this good."
"It kinda reads something like 'A girl wants' ...." Hyunsuk whispers. They look at Haruto while he looks back at them.
"Don't worry. We'll make sure he'll fall for you." Jihoon hugged Haruto as Haruto sighed, done with his friends' shenanigans.
