HALEIGH'S POV
We enter a huge, in my opinion, dining room. It holds a table that seats 12 in it along with various decor like paintings on the walls, plants, and a hutch that held very expensive looking alcohol. That's when I see everyone already sitting, staring at me. My heart picks up some speed and I start to back up when I run into Gunner's chest with my back and whip my head around to look at him, clearly scared.
"It's ok, like I told you at the doctor, I won't let anyone hurt you. These are all of my friends in the pack, along with my parents and brother. You've already met my father, Alpha Henry, but I'll let everyone else introduce themselves." Gunner put his hands on my arms and started rubbing from my shoulders to my elbows trying to calm me down, and it was working. Sort of. Until I kept thinking over and over, how all of these people were actually ferocious monsters able to rip me to shreds. Then my heart started to pick back up again. I took one big deep breath in, moved to Gunner's side, trapped his hand in a death grip and plastered on my nicest looking smile I could.
"Hi, everyone. My name is Haleigh, although I'm sure you all already know that." I start to blush, embarrassment washing over my entire body before Gunner squeezes my hand back in reassurance. The first to come up to me is the girl that tried to hug me when I first walked into this house. I know Gunner said her name earlier, god what was it?
"Hi, I'm Nikki, well Nicole but everyone calls me Nikki. I'm so sorry if I scared you earlier by trying to hug you. I'm just so so so happy for Gunner and I have great people reading skills and one look at you and I could tell you are going to be a fantastic Luna one day." She beamed at me and I smiled at her words. I'm pretty sure what she said was a compliment, right? So I should thank her?
"Uh, thank you. I know you didn't mean to scare me earlier, it's totally forgiven and forgotten. It's kind of been a day. I'll take that hug now if you'd like, I think I need it." I chuckle to myself before releasing Gunner's hand and give Nikki a hug before immediately entangling mine and Gunner's fingers again. Next to come up to me was a girl very close in age to Nikki.
"Hello Haleigh, it's nice to finally put a face to a name. I was in the kitchen baking dessert for tonight when you came in so I'm glad I get to meet you now. I'm Jennifer but you can call me Jen, everyone does. If you need anything when you are here, please let me know." She gave me a shy smile before sitting back down in her seat. Following was an older woman who looked a lot like Gunner.
"Good evening Haleigh, I'm so pleased that you were open minded enough to come have dinner with us all, please sit and we can finish the introductions." She brushed some of the hair that had fallen into my face behind my ear and then cupped my cheek for a moment before giving me what seemed like the warmest smile I've ever experienced before continuing, "my name is Luna Abigail. Henry told me he gave you permission to call him just Henry, I would like to extend that to myself as well. We all know and understand how new this life is and will be for you so we are not worried about titles right now. Please just call me Abby." She goes back to sitting next to Henry at the head of the table while Gunner leads me to the other end. He takes a seat at the opposite side of his father and I sit next to him, which puts Nikki to my right, and a woman who hasn't introduced herself in front of me.
"I don't have to introduce myself again, right?" I hear Ben pipe up which makes me laugh a little. Both Gunner and Henry turn and give him a stern look before they notice my laugh and ease up a bit.
"No, of course not. I know who you are, Ben. Same goes for you David, I may be a nobody at school and you may not have known my name until a few days ago, but everyone knows you three from school." I look between Ben, David, then landing on Gunner. "Which means you must be Jacob, Gunner's brother." I turn to look at the man who threatened to assault me earlier in the hallway. He smirks before looking me directly into my eyes, almost as if he can sense my wariness of our encounter earlier. But he doesn't say a word, surprisingly. "Which only leaves.." I trail off to look directly in front of me to the woman who hasn't said a word yet the entire time since we entered the room.
