Ever felt like life is going so smooth that something's fishy?

Laying peacefully spread out over my bed after a long fucking day I want nothing else but just my dad's favourite banana souffle pancakes. One more con added to the list of cons of living thousand miles away from hometown.

I'm the one who chose this life for me, so I might as well suck it up I guess. It's already messy that I had a fight with my fiancé I don't want to mess my head more. I was just 10 minutes deep into my nap when I heard my phone being the reason of me cursing.

With a loud groan and lazy yawn I reach out to my bedside table for my phone.

"Come on Livie, it's been four years since we graduated. It's time to reconnect with our classmates!" I was welcomed with another one of my best friend Isabella's never ending plee for me to socialize with people.

"You know I'm not into college reunions. I'm much happier now that I'm not constantly studying."

"But it could be fun! We could catch up with old friends and reminisce about old times." Izzie tried to convince me nevertheless.

"I don't know... I'm just not really in the mood to go." Definitely my go to sentence every-fricking-time.

"Please? Just come for a little bit. It will be fun, I promise.Don't worry about the media. Nobody's going to care about a college reunion with a few old classmates."

"I don't know... I just don't want to run into trouble with my schedule and manager." I came up with a nice lie instantly.

"He never shows up to these things." Bella said said with no break.
"He doesn't?" And as if on spot I was caught up with my own lie for reason of avoiding all that was related to college. Home. Friends.

"Nope. He hates college reunions. You know how he is. Plus I know how Ethan has spoiled your good mood already, so you need a distraction from that." I can almost sense her sly smile behind the phone after this sentence. "With that being cleared now, pick up your comfiest heels and pack up your favourite lipsticks because Liv and Bells are going out tonight!"

*Sighs* God help me with the strength to put up with this women.

Honestly I wouldn't mind a little media exposure over my personal life events, but when there's alcohol involved there's trouble. Remind me again why I was dragged out of my comfort zone to this basfully loud restaurant which looks more like a club at this point.
As soon as I entered here I tried to run away after pushing Isabella inside but as if on cue she senses my thoughts, she tugs onto my arms and drags me towards the table cutting through crowds.
She managed to slip a little question in midst of the hustle by asking "Doesn't it feels nice to be out here like our old days in college, not worrying about your media image?"

"I'd be surprised if I'm not in the missing or kidnapped list by tomorrow's New York Daily." I fake plastered a smile as I whispered in her ear spotting my former classmates waving towards Isabella.
She twirled around to expose me from behind her while answering me "How optimistic of you" with a wink.

"What can I say, one of my best traits indeed." I said with sarcasm.

"Mierda! Is this seriously Olivia Martinez?" Said one of the guys I recognised as Sebastian.
"You mean The Olivia Huang Martinez, the one who was featured in Marie Claire magzine last weekend!?" squealed the girl next to him.

"Do I need to pinch you to wake you up from this dream?" said Huxley giving a small deep chuckle towards them.

"Por mucho que me alegro de ver a mis fans, no aquí, Bailey". I replied laughing heartily to their comments.
Shit. I didn't knew I haven't felt this homely since then.
("As much as I'm happy to see my fans, not here Bailey.")

"I knew spanish had always been your strong suite in plus subjects so no need to flex about it in my face again." Bailey replied throwing her arms dramatically off the table.

And so the evening started with enormous laughs and friends joining us one by one in endless tales of the stupidest stuff we hated each other for.

After an hour of reconnecting to past I was hit by the question of my sudden suprise appearance which I dedicated fully to Bella.

Huxley spoke up in middle of Bella collecting appreciation for her convincing skills "Speaking of surprises, I might as well have one too."
"You're getting married?" I spoke dramatically covering my mouth with one hand.
"No why-"
"You got some girl pregnant?" Bailey cut him off mid sentence.
"That's crazy-"
"You're dying!?" Bella joined our trance of harrassing Huxley as he finally sighed and stopped Hannah from speaking another assumption about him either dying, eloping or anything crazy.

"Y'all are crazy to assume such stuff, I'm sorry to let your expectations down." He said with a disgusted look on his face.

"Hope I'm not too late to miss out on some good gossip and reactions. PS Huxley I didn't knew you were eloping soon?"
A voice right behind our table shocked us.

Talk about reactions, if you could see mine you'd probably think someone had stolen my favourite teddy bear from my hands. If someone can pick my jaw and heart up from the floor and place them right back at their place, I'd just give them my expensive ass skincare kit for no price.

Coco's notes:

I don't usually try to write author notes but since it was the first chapter, I hope I did well. Feel free to improve me with your suggestions though.
