"Rafael?? How did you get so wet? Where the hell is Nicolas?
James—call Nicolas... NOW!!"
Lisa's voice cracked through the air like a whip, her eyes scanning Rafael's drenched form.
"Why did you even let him go alone? I told you it's not safe to wander around like that!
I know you're a big man, all gangster and whatever, but you are my little brother first!"
Her voice wavered between fury and concern.
Rafael stood at the doorway, silent, shoulders tense. Rain dripped from his jet-black hair, his sharp features shadowed with an unreadable expression.
Lisa's eyes narrowed.
"And where the hell is your coat?!"
Her anger grew when he didn't answer.
"For God's sake, Rafael, give me a damn answer!"
Still nothing.
Just his cold, unwavering stare.
James sighed, stepping between them before Lisa exploded.
"Alright...baby... baby—listen to me.
Calm down, my love.
Let him enter first.
He needs a shower before you kill him."
Lisa huffed, sending Rafael one last glare before storming off.
James turned back to Rafael, smirking.
"Man, you're a sight to behold. What happened to the terrifying gangster boss?"
Rafael's jaw clenched. A flicker of something dark—rage, frustration, something else entirely—flashed in his stormy eyes.
"I'm not a filthy gangster," he growled, voice low, menacing. "F*CK OFF."
James bit back a grin, muttering under his breath as Rafael stalked past him,
"They really are brother and sister, huh?"
.
.
"Lisa, I'm taking Daisy with me. She wants to visit the museum."
Rafael adjusted the Rolex on his wrist, his tone firm but calm.
"No."
Rafael exhaled sharply.
"Lisa."
She crossed her arms, unimpressed.
"Okay. I'm taking my guards as well. Your daughter will be safe."
Lisa's glare intensified.
"She's not just my daughter. She's your niece as well."
He sighed.
"Yes, big sister. Can I get the permission now?"
Lisa smirked.
"Rafello, it's so funny to watch you like this in front of Mommy."
She giggled, shaking her head.
"Your voice doesn't sound convincing at all.
Be softer. It feels like you're giving orders to Mommy."
Rafael scratched his temple with his thumb, exasperated.
"Come back before evening. Rafael has a flight at night."
Lisa glanced at Daisy and smiled mischievously.
"And say hi to your fairy."
Rafael frowned.
"Who's this freaking fairy?"
Daisy grinned, eyes twinkling.
"When you see, you'll know. And language, Rafello.
If Mommy hears, you'll get scolded."
Rafael scoffed but let it slide.
"Yes, Princess, now let's go."
Daisy beamed, jumping into his lap.
"You're in a good mood today."
"Yes I am, I will meet my fairy today.
But you seem to be in a good mood today as well."
Rafael smirked.
"Well, maybe I'll see a fairy today. Or..." he murmured darkly,
"maybe I've already met one."
Daisy giggled. "No one can compete with my one!" She declared proudly.
Rafael just smirked and gestured for the driver to start the car.
.
.
At the National Museum of Oslo
The vast halls were silent. Cleared of the public. Only Rafael, Daisy,
and his guards remained in the museum.
(Perks of being a billionaire. Your author crying in a corner.)
Rafael's hands were in his pockets, his sharp gaze scanning the surroundings.
"Why do you even want to come here? Any special occasion?"
Daisy twirled on her heels, excitement evident in her voice.
"I wanted to see the works of Artemisia Gentileschi."
Rafael raised a brow.
"Would you even understand what the artist means?"
Daisy shrugged. "No, definitely not. I'm not a grown-up like you.
But do you even understand?"
Rafael snorted. "I'm not interested."
He glanced around, his voice dropping into a mutter.
"Unless it's about shedding someone else's blood."
"I will take lots of photos, Fairy will explain all these to me.
And you are criticizing someone else's interest. Fairy won't like it."
Rafael narrowed his eyes.
"I don't give a damn."
His jaw clenched at the thought of this so-called 'fairy' who had apparently influenced his niece. Daisy crossed her arms.
"You really need language courses, Uncle."
"And you really need to act like a kid."
"I am a kid!"
"Then talk like one."
Daisy huffed.
"You know, Uncle, I am tolerating you, not the other way around."
Rafael raised an eyebrow. "Tolerating me?"
Daisy nodded, looking far too serious for a child.
"Yes. You won't get a girlfriend if you behave like this with women. Fairy told me that we should always be soft with women, because women were sent from God as a blessing to humankind."
Rafael's fingers twitched. His irritation spiked.
"Who is this person feeding you such nonsense?"
His voice was sharp, dangerously low.
Daisy shrugged innocently. "Not nonsense, Uncle. It's true!"
Rafael clenched his fists. Was this 'fairy' just some random woman with too much interest in his family? Did they have hidden motives? If so, they wouldn't live to see another day.
His mood darkened instantly. He craved bloodshed now. The silence of this museum was boring him, and the unknown presence influencing Daisy was irritating him beyond measure.
"Would you like to eat something before going home?"
Rafael asked a moment later, his tone unreadable.
Daisy's eyes sparkled.
"Yes, please!"
She clapped her hands like she had been waiting for this moment.
Rafael turned to Nicolas.
"Bring her an ice cream."
"No, no! I want cheesecake."
"Fine. Bring her whatever she's asking for."
The car ride back was quiet, aside from Rafael's laptop keys clicking as he worked.
The sky had turned dark, rain pattering against the windows.
Daisy suddenly gasped.
"Nooooo! Let me take you to my favorite dessert shop!"
Rafael sighed, not looking up.
"Where is it?"
"Beside my school. Please, please, it won't take much time."
She looked at him with hopeful eyes.
He exhaled sharply. "Okay, Princess."
Daisy squealed in excitement.
Rafael leaned back in his seat, rubbing his temples. He was exhausted.
His flight was at 11 PM. He should be preparing for it.
Instead, he was being dragged to some random dessert shop because of his niece.
And because of a fairy.
Whoever this person was, Rafael would soon find out.
And if they had bad intentions, they wouldn't live to see another sunrise.
