Elara Hart had practically been through the wringer with her first 12 years of life. Growing up in the house of Lila Se wasn't easy through all the abuse she endured. The test, the rooms, and the physical bashings. All of it hurt, but after year twelve of being there her story took news and she found coverage in Adria Hart's loving home that at the time had two identical twin boys who she would take in as her brothers.

It had been 10 years since that. A grown 23-year-old woman with long wavy brownish hair stood in the kitchen wearing shorts and a baggy sweatshirt while she filled up her Stanley cup and scrolled on her phone till eventually she heard the guest bedroom door open and the sound of feet sprinting down the stairs.

"Elllll!!!!" She heard Faron scream from the bottom of the stairs, they had been staying with her for the past week until Adria got back from a work trip.

"What" her voice was full of annoyance but in a playful way as if she was forcing it to sound that way.

Without looking back she could tell the boy was eying her with something on his mind. "Not till your brother gets down here" She glanced at him smiling lightly. "Happy Birthday dork." A genuine smile came on the newly 12-year-old boy's face instead of the usually mischievous smirk.

"Did mom call yet?" The boy came beside her sitting beside her taking her Stanley and drinking out of it.

"Yeah, called while you and Ethan were asleep and didn't bother to wake you up." She said sarcastically as she swatted him away from the water. "Get your own." The boy scoffed at her and stuck his tongue out.

"It's my birthday you can't be mean to me." He whined trying to take it back to which the girl pushed him back again and let out a small laugh disregarding his comment.

"Where is your brother?" She asked, glancing behind at the stairs, usually they were always side by side.

"His shoulder is hurting him again," Faron spoke as if he had forgotten and just remembered.

Elara let out a sigh. "When is it not." She glanced at the time. "Well, I'm going to work that out you get ready because Rex and I are taking you to breakfast before your little buddies come over."

"Ooooh Ellie's boyfriends taking us to breakfast." Faron practically chased Elara up the stairs poking jabs toward her regarding Rex, as she walked into the twin's shared room. Despite having three other guest rooms in the house they insisted on staying in the same room together.

"Hey" Elara spoke lightly Ethan was trying to massage his shoulder himself. "Got something you want to tell me?" Elara smirked at her other younger brother. He had shoulder problems his whole life and was always trying to hide it from others as if saying if they don't know then it won't be hurt.

Ethan threw a glare at Faron who threw a smirk at his brother. "It's just tight." He muttered when Elara touched it he flinched but she massaged it.

"I'd say a little bit more than tight. What did you do to it?" She stopped and ruffled his hair. "Happy birthday kid." She smiled lightly before going back to massaging his shoulder.

"Thanks, El." He smiled before Elara's phone ringing caused the twins to sprint towards the phone to answer it first.

Once a month Adria Hart had to go on a one-week-long business trip; she didn't have her phone to call except for one day as she worked throughout the week. That one call usually came at the end of the week while she was driving home so they could sum up everything they'd done but on July 15th each year the twins got their birthday call whether it be Wednesday or Saturday.

"Mom!" The twins practically screamed at the same time into the phone Elara winced.

"My god you saw her 6 days ago"
